I have a confession to make … I have never bought a Beatles LP, CD, download, or streamed them. But for over 35 years I have had my wife’s LP copy of this album (she bought it within five years of initial US release) in my collection. So I say, todays the day. I take it out and it is filthy, so I clean it, twice. Then I play it and … OMG this sounds horrible! I’ve heard all these songs on the radio so many times I never felt compelled to buy the albums, but they sounded, uh, tolerable. On my system, good god, this is the definition of bright enough to peel paint.

I do enjoy reading what everyone else is listening too, but maybe after this heretical post I should continue to refrain from adding to the discussion.

Decided I needed to let my ears down slowly. This LP is an early English pressing and sounds very good. Of course Kate’s voice is quite high pitched, especially this early in her career, but it’s a natural sound and does not offend.

Love that song. Gram Parsons does it well, but the Little Willies do a great version too.

I didn’t know the song goes back…figures. It’s a deep song that hits hard!

Winding down for the night … 3 LP set with real good sound and quiet surfaces. Apparently hard to find at a reasonable price now, too bad. They are on tour again and I will see them for the second time in late April. Bad news is tickets are expensive, but should be worth it.

The Stellar Phono sure has improved my vinyl system!

That’s a song so true that it breaks my heart every time I listen to it, much less try and sing along. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

I wonder if Joni painted the album cover?

I would think so… It looks like her handy work.

All polite opinions are welcome here. I think I may be the only person on the planet that is not a fan of Dylan or the Grateful Dead (he says while hoping no spears come flying out of the screen).
