Took yesterday afternoon off to see my beloved White Sox get crushed by Baltimore and today to sleep in and extend the glorious holiday weekend.

Nashville Blues, R&B, Gospel label. My kind of music from my favorite era of American recordings.

Just keeping on the same path…theses songs were bigger hits. I’m just an absolute sucker for this kind of music.

She is a terrific artist.
It will be interesting to see how she grows.

Last one for the morning. A 305x5 deadlift awaits.

Dang, I might as well go out and try and lift my truck. Both would move just as far.

In honor of the pardon by President Trump. Could only happen by the unexpected!! The Mann Act is vague and stupid and the prosecution was racist.

Plus, this is just a bad ass record!! 24/96 FLAC!!

Ordered the first three not knowing there was a fourth. Picked up the 4th one today. Through the miracle of Amazon, it’ll arrive Sunday. The music is sooo good, remastered too loud though. Oh well, it still sounds good. Simple (fewer instruments, basic rythems) music can take more compression than complex. This is simple music!

Picked up from a RonP post: thanks! Never heard of it before. Nice, really well recorded (DR of 15), groovy music. Listening on my deck system and it sounds great outside! The bourbon and Colorado tea don’t hurt…life is good!

Think just owning this puts me in a feminist self help group…I really think it’s a pretty great soundtrack. I learned about Jimmy Reed from this CD. Worth it just for that alone…

Think I paid $1.00 for this at a second hand store in NOLA. Not a great CD at all but an astonding recording of Saint James Infirmary. Hard to not like any version of this song but this version just swings and sounds sounds so 3D!

Might have attributed “Smells like Teen Spirit” to Jose James in a previous post. My mistake. Just a killer bass line…big speakers needed!

Don’t read the reviews. Buy this and play the Lauryn Hill song, “Turn Your Lights Down Low” LOUD. Big, phat, loud compressed greatness! You may find a new demo song…
