Disc 1, my favorite, with great coffee!

This one again just because it’s like a soothing tonic.

Chet Baker “Why Shouldn’t You Cry” Enja Japan CD

How does this compare to Pollini’s version?

Well I can guarantee you, Chicago doesn’t look like the album cover today. Smoking hot and humid! The Junior Wells and Otis Spann songs are my favorite. The most influential Blues record ever?

I haven’t heard Pollini’s version. But I liken Brautigam’s way with Beethoven to something like what Brendel might sound like playing a period fortepiano.

Amazing sounding set. Maybe the best Robert Johnson, “Crossroads” I own…and I have the Centennial Collection.

I highly recommend Pollini.

Thanks for posting this. I remember Canned Heat and ‘On The Road Again’ from 50 years ago. Back then we were listening on cheap transistor radios, and I was completely astonished at how well it sounded. This was at volume level 35, 74 would blow my windows out!

Octet for Strings in Eb Major

Recorded on 35mm magnetic film. A fascinating serious of recordings.

Disc 1. I just love Dixieland. Sidney Bechet, “Maple Leaf Rag” is such a treat!

Just kept going with disc 2. Have to get off my ass soon. Heavy squat day…275X3X5.

Disc 3. All work is done and an early start to my listening. I’m playing discs till 8:00 P.M. central time…ahhh.

:us: Happy Memorial Day. I’m still a believer. I served 20, one nephew is an MP in Germany -two tours in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan-, another was infantry -two tours in Iraq running convoys-, and another applying for the Air Force Academy this week (he has a great shot). All came home in one piece so far!
