Some pictures from my recent NOLA trip. Went for Satchmo fest. As part of the festivities, there was a service at St. Augustine Catholic Church (in the Treme neighborhood) with the Treme Brass band and a 2nd line following the service. Such a spirit of life. It is funny, step out of church and you can smell the weed and find folks selling beer for $2 out of coolers.

Notice the picture of Louis on the right hand side of the picture. The Treme Brass band up front.

Treme Brass band stepping out of church to lead the second line.

The Satchmo Festival: Don Vappie. A Dannie Barker protege. Outstandingly fun!

Robin Barnes: A beautiful young woman with a fantastic talent and spirit

Big Chief Donald Harrison: Closed the show on Sunday. Wow!

I am listening to a sound sample of “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” that opened the Allman Brothers’ performance on February 14, 1970 from this new Owsley Stanley Foundation release here.

More info on this interesting new release is available here.

Looking forward to downloading the full set of reels in high-res PCM here.

I have that set. I like it. Don’t remember but is that an R.T. Davies mastered set?

No, it’s a Ted Kendall remastered set. (Kendall’s work is very Davies-like).

I caught the 'Dusters live on Halloween night 2015 at Higher Ground in South Burlington, Vermont … what a killer show! The tracks on this live compilation were recorded a few months later. Great stuff if you are into jamgrass!

I love the albums Jobim did in the late 'eighties with his “A Banda Nova”. . . . Love those lovely women singing with him.
