What are you spinning right now?

I listened to Dylan’s “John Wesley Harding” on the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab stereo SACD, and now I’m listening to the same title in the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab mono SACD. Both are excellent masterings of an album that I find fascinating. Though each SACD is mastered by a different engineer the tonality is very similar. The mono is punchy and fat sound, the stereo a bit mellower and a bit more mysterious seeming.

Dylan’s music throughout his career fascinates me more and more as I age.

A very “Mahavishnu”-like album in parts. Featuring the awesome bassist Doug Rauch who left us way too soon (overdose at 28).

Spinning an LP for the first time in ages. Forgot how good my turntable and phono pre sound!!

Yes, it’s been about seven years since I’ve been spinning LPs again. With the killer phono preamplifier I have LPs have never sounded better, and rival the sound from the DS which is really saying something!

Right now the SHM-CD:

The third disc of the second show in the new Grateful Dead '77 box set. Enjoying a slow trek through this box set.

From the first volume of the Columbia Albums box sets.

My Dad has rekindled my interest in Ella, this year he has been going through his Ella collection and spurring me on to do the same.

Louisiana Blues Man. Jimmy Reed meets Bo Diddley in the swamps of Louisiana.

Deep Mississippi!

Funky!! Pass the Peas Maceo…

What a glorious set. Playing disc 2. Support Mosaic any way you can!

I agree. I have all the sets that are now in print, and many that are out of print, probably more than 80 percent of their total output. I may buy a few sets for family members for Xmas a bit later this year.

Right now

Spinning the LP: I’m a Soul Man. Still think The Blues Brothers covered it with the respect the great Sam and Dave deserved.
