What is the DSD upsampling rate for SACDs played back with a DMP connected to DS DAC?

Hello,

I couldn’t find this but, what is the DSD rate of which a SACD disc when played back via the DMP. Connected to the DS SR via is2 connection.

Thanks

SACDs are all DSD64 or 2.8224MHz. When playing SACDs as DSD the DMP doesn’t change the sample rate.

Thanks Ted,

I was just under the impression that the DSD layer off the SACD when connected to the DS DAC would be upsampled as if it was a regular DSD file being played off of another input for example.

The DS does internal upsampling of everything to 56.448MHz. The DMP doesn’t do processing in general. Usually the best results are achieved by sending files in their original format to the DS which the DMP does.

Thanks again Ted. So will those dsd layers off the sacd played back via dmp be processed by the ds at the higher sample rate?

or does the ds leave the sample rate alone when playing back sacd ?

mdp632, everything that goes into the DS gets upsampled, including the DMP.
