Today it’s my Maglite XL50 led flashlight. Makes my stylus light up when I’m looking thru my loupe.
On it’s brightest setting, it can probably be seen by the space station.

Hemo’s - that was so obvious, I don’t know how I missed them. I’ve got two pairs at my bench.

It’s going to become obvious very quickly to all of you that I am a tool fanatic.

This tool is one of my favorite. It’s very accurate, very well made, and the price is very fair:

I will warn you that if you’ve never been to the Woodpeckers web site, you are in for a treat. I have many of their tools.

I have lots of Woodpecker tools, but I can’t say I’ve used any of them for the stereo. I have a bad tool habit …

I get Woodpecker emails all the time, and all I can do is drool over them.

Wow gorgeous bandsaw…

Thanks. It’s just their most basic 14” 110V model, but it should prove way more useful than the little 9” desktop Craftsman it replaced.

I often use the pocket rule when I am making cables and power cords. Handy for ensuring the length of shrink tube or the amount of jacket I am taking off the cable ends.

Teflon furniture movers attached to spike cups using Blue Tac. Indispensable for dialing in optimal speaker placement.

You could do the same thing with felt furniture movers for hardwood floors.

Genius award!

Decibel meters, even some of the free ones available in appstore, are so useful for audio tasks: equalizing volumes for head-to-head AB shootouts, becoming familiar with the decibel levels of everyday sounds, proving to your wife that you are not damaging your hearing at the volumes you listen to, …

I’m sure the dedicated ones work much better, but even the freebies are useful …

Oh yeah and ear plugs when I’m mowing so that I’ll hopefully still be able to hear when I get old

Along those lines, I have a set of 8 of these:

Furniture Sliders - 4 PCS Moving Pads with Socks X-Protector

The reason I went for x-protectors are the booties that can put on or taken off depending on the surface. On for hardwood, off for carpet. I love these things. Whenever I need to move my amp (the Pass or BHK250, both pushing 85 lbs), I slip these under it with the booties on to slide it across my wood floor. I’ve also used them in the past for rough speaker placement.
Makes my audiophile life a whole lot easier.

That’s a great idea. They look like a major upgrade from the old bathroom hand towel I use to put under things while I slide them around.
