We’re talking about changing the output voltage, phase and multi wave on the setup panel…
Interestingly, I looked at Hifishark and many of the used P15s were $5000 or above (the range I bought mine), but then it looks like recently the new ones starting going for $5000 or lower throwing the whole thing off.
I meant like replacing internal circuitry with upgraded components or hacking the firmware to provide non-factory capabilities (multi-wave settings?). You never know what people will do.
My experience is that, sometimes with expensive HIFI in the use market, it can be tricky to set the right price for a start? I would maybe adjust the price a bit, but not much, too see if you then get a response? At the end of the day, someone will come around an be interested in what your selling. It just take some time to get there, and especially on the more pricey things.
Good luck!
Why don’t you just use it for 6mo or so. You’ll probably get more for it down the road anyway. What is it about it that doesn’t work for you exactly?
I’m not trying to knock a piece of gear I’m selling however, while the improvements in sound were largely as advertised it felt somewhat stiff/restrained and less enjoyable compared to the sound from the wall. I already use Shunyata Alpha NR power cables so I do get some degree of noise reduction even without the regenerator.
The P15 costs over 10 000 dollar here in Sweden and I don’t know if there is any market in this little country to sell such a special & expensive stereo-thing but I’m luckily quite happy with my P15 and are not going to sell it anyway.
Just yesterday I popped my old Running Springs Haley back in to replace my P15. I had had the Haley still in use feeding other stuff, so it wasn’t a cold comparison. While the P15 is better (and it is), I was pleased that the Haley did not embarrass itself. Sure, the soundstage was less expansive, it was a little less resolved, and overall the sound was more “compact”, but it acquitted itself well.
I guess my only point with respect to the OP is that, for as good as the P15 is, I think it’s reflective of this stage of the high end - once you have a decent system, a good chunk of extra money advances the sound maybe only a little bit (to some people - not nuts like us ). Maybe that’s part of what’s going on, but I also think like others you’re caught right now in the vortex of retailers getting rid of their remaining stock. Wait a bit, keep using it. I suspect when folks see that it’ll only be available direct from PSA at list price you may have better luck.
True so true.
The “extra polish” on the sound to make it shine just that little more can cost a leg in the end. Kind of.
