Windom: Installation/Technical Problems

It’s all quotes from them. It’s all in their words. If my interpretation is incorrect, or if they have wish to correct the record, they are welcome to do so. They certainly don’t need to hide behind your apologetic tendencies which are well documented as well.

This whole good load bad load thing is detrimental. It’s ok to simply own that. You don’t have to prove your love and devotion for PSA by defending things that are clearly lame.

How can you defy the Apologist-in-Chief! The Nerve!:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I really just want Paul and Ted to appreciate you for who you truly are, and not for your monkey with his PSA an organ grinder persona :face_with_monocle::joy::call_me_hand:

Much of what you say in my name is wrong. I give you the benefit of the doubt, but I don’t try to correct you because it never stops. I’m reasonably sure most people can easily check what I did actually say and the context of those comments.

I still like windom

All I have ever said about you is that way way back in this thread, when asked about the state of good vs bad loads that you said to ask Paul - those are your words which implied the solution was beyond your scope of work. You also implied that PSA had more pressing engineering projects than fixing this good vs bad load issue. That’s what you wrote.

I would have to read back through 1000 posts to find it, but that’s what you said. That’s not saying anything particularly bad about you, just quoting you.

If I have misunderstood you, then feel free to correct my understanding. All this time, you have never corrected or shed light on a different understanding regarding the issue of what it would take to fix this load issue, and if/when PSA would do it.

What’s the big deal about that?

Even now, instead of deride me, why not express clearly when this issue is going to be fixed. Express clearly what Paul’s position is on utilizing his engineering team to fix it.

Paul’s position has been that we forum folks are a bit loopy and our experience of good vs bad loads doesn’t represent the overwhelming positive experience of most users. That once again, sides step the issue at hand.

It would be so wonderful if you could spend less time dodging the issue in these forums and instead espouse a clear path going forward that is going to fix the issue. Why is that so hard? What good is it to continue to avoid expressing concrete solutions and timelines?

Why do you take offense to a customer, and not just me, but many, simply asking for their very expensive DACs to freakin’ work properly?

Thank God I’m here to stir the pot for you so our collective soup doesn’t burn. Just sayin’

Ok, I was able to find the quotes that I have referred to:

From Original Thread
Post 955 by Ted : “ PS Audio doesn’t need help with possible solutions, they need time for an engineer to work on it without taking away from progress on other projects.”

Post 957 by Speed Racer: “ @dancingsea is right. This reflects poorly on PS Audio. This has gone on for upgrade cycle after upgrade cycle. No customer should have to go through this when it fails. If PS Audio is going to offer these field upgrades, they MUST provide a reliable method to do so.”

Post 958 by Ted: “ Talk to Paul”

I have written that you said “ask Paul”, but you actually wrote “Talk to Paul”. Your other quote clearly implies a lack of either engineering priority or resources to address the load issue. If it was a priority perhaps you and or Paul would say something to the effect of “yes, this is an issue and we’re working on it and hope to get a solution out very soon.”

Please explain what I have said in your name is wrong? Those are your words above, from the original thread before it got split in two. There it is, straight no chaser.

As I have mentioned, feel free to revise your statements, or clarify your position, or update PSA’s stance on fixing the good vs bad load issue. Just because I quoted you essentially correctly, not word for word, but the gist all this time doesn’t mean your position can’t evolve. My sense is that this is an issue that has gone on for years, update after update, and fixing it remains a low engineering priority. Ok, your turn, feel free to correct me :hugs:

I’m not reading any of that.

Al

On another note, how is your Euphony PTS holding up after the newest software upgrade?

Software upgrade you say? I checked a few days ago and I was up to date. I’ll have to check again.
I am really, really happy with Euphony and the PTS system. Loaded Roon on it and it works so well. Roon Radio is my favorite. I have discovered so much new to me music. I listen to it more than my library these days. I play a favorite song from a favorite album and let Roon Radio take over. It’s not weak like Amazon suggestions, I.e. I see you checked out David Bowie, can I suggest more David Bowie? lol.
New software, I’ll check. Thanks!

Just checked, I am still up to date. Hmmmmm.

I’m just going by the Stylus website touting V3 with upgraded Qubox and Airplay. Might have already been issued when you purchased yours though. Looks like the IOS app is a bit older and from last year. Does it work like it should?

I thought you’d already decided that PS Audio had the solution?
Windom: Installation/Technical Problems?

“If you ask, PS Audio will send you one of their USB sticks for free, and those seem to always work.”

Yes sir, mine came with V3 and it works very well with my iPad.
And Windom!

Good to know. Even though I am satisfied with the performance of the G1 the PTS has peaked my curiosity which is never a good thing for my wallet.

That works for making sure the update goes through but has nothing to do with clarifying if it’s a good load or bad load in terms of sound quality. It’s obvious that little is being done to fix the good/ bad load issue as it relates to sound quality. We’ll just have to live with it.

Give it a rest, man. You are simply wrong about “little is being done”. Life on the No Cost Bleeding Edge is not for the faint of heart. You may not be satisfied, but are (like me) a Focus Group of One.

“Clique Consciousness” is the enemy of excellence.

I can only go by what Ted and Paul have posted. And in that respect, I am 100% accurate in everything I have said. I’ve provided quotes to prove it.

If there’s something actually going on behind the scenes, then let them come out and say it. But they don’t. This issue has gone of for literally years. Its clearly not a priority, both in word and deed.

If either @Paul or @tedsmith wish to speak clearly about what’s being done, and when it’s expected to be done, then they are welcome to say so, in writing, here on the forums.

But they don’t do it, and if fact, have intimated the exact opposite. So that’s all I have to go on until they provide something different.

I am not wrong about this. At all. In any form. It just doesn’t satisfy your clique-ish ways and thus is offensive to you.

Dude, I am So Hurt.:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

This is Clearly a Kennedy-Assasination-Level Conspiracy. I had no idea. Thanks for hipping us all to it.

Things are being done. Besides the ongoing rework of the download code/system, the new download files on the download page are clearly work towards a more reliable download experience. This has been explained before.
