No i did not mean the volume dropping to 50 after the initial load. I know its 50 for Snowmass 3.06 and 25 for Windom. I meant the volume would fall to 50 regardless of the volume i would have set the dsd on. The only temp fix is to lock the DAC level and volume to avoid the random volume drops.

Oh … I never experienced any random drops while playing mid music. But I liked snowmass 3.0 so much - I never went further w snowmass

With a system like yours, I don’t think that I’d be willing to experiment with new builds. There are just way too many variables in your system, and if you already had the balance perfect with Snomass, I’d personally be inclined to just leave well-enough alone and perhaps jump off of the never endi…

I’ll note that there are very noticeable differences between 3.00 and 3.06 in my system (notably the treble is recessed/diminished in 3.00 in comparison) and I do not have a Bridge.

I too had the boomy bass thing; however, over time that’s gone away. The bass with Windom is definitely more powerful – especially the low bass!
