Agreed, if you can afford it, go for it.
Well, I don’t quite know what’s going on but confusion reigns. I decided to go with the upgrade option offered and sent an email yesterday (within 24 hours of discussing the option with PS Audio) but what happens today only the original DAC is back with me, arriving from Fed Ex after being shipped a couple of days previously from CO. I am genuinely baffled by this. Seems while we were discussing the upgrade option, the repair had already been completed and shipped without either of us knowing. I have a question in to the same agent to try to understand but I guess I missed the window somehow?
Well I suppose there is not much interest in this saga but for closure - indeed, there was some disconnect. My request to proceed with upgrade was to the agent handling my return, but the repair was being handled by some other dept or person, and the two did not communicate. So last Monday, my repair was completed and prepared for return shipping. On Tue, when I was offered the upgrade option on the DAC, it was already packed and scheduled for return to me. When I confirmed I wanted to upgrade, the shipment was en route. I got the the DAC back on Thurs, and now am listening to it but could send it back again next week, with PSA handling the shipping cost, if I want the upgrade for $3k. There we have it. Sort of tired of it all by now to be honest but finally understand that it was never the PWT, that sales/repairs don’t have a direct line to each other, and it will all sort itself out in the end. Phew.
If you can afford the upgrade to the Directstream you will be shocked by the improvement. This is even more so with the advent of Windom!
Bother!
Thank you for providing an update.
