Understood. Last resort, I have a adapter that leads to my DSD, so could plug in a phone and play anything from an iPhone (so SoundCloud, Spotify, Bandcamp, Audius, etc.), or even somebody else’s phone, over USB.
That said, I’d want my very best sound for a guest, so wouldn’t be too hip to that approach.
Vinyl is fun to spin, but I’d want it to be a nice clean record, and that takes some foresight, etc…which I pre-meditate on because I’m such a total music nerdo.
Oh, no question I’m in the minority when it comes to Roon. That’s been clear to me for some time. 
Even so, I only listen to Qobuz directly when I’m out mowing the lawn, or have other reason to listen while mobile, probably not unlike when you walk your dog. In the listening room, I listen to it through my streamer’s operating system - BluOS for now, Conductor after I get around to installing my Aurender in the system.
Hi, Elk. I do the same but reserve veto power. If someone wants Layla by Derek and the Dominoes, I respond, “there is no good recording of that”. Not that I know of anyway. Happy to be educated, but I have the SACD, and it’s just a more clear representation of how bad the master is.
