Jerome Sabbagh’s Analog Tone Factory label continues to release some really nice contemporary jazz in purist sound. This most recent album is transferred from the 30ips half-inch master tape to Pure DSD256. It was released last year on vinyl and as a 1st generation reel-to-reel dub. The tape dub is at $575, but for $35 you can get this virtually indistinguishable Pure DSD256 download file–assuming you have a good DAC capable of allowing it to shine.

Rembrandt Frerichs is an artist whose recordings I eagerly look forward to hearing. In The Golden Hour Sessions, he and the trio reward that anticipation immensely—I am simply thrilled as I listen. This collection of jazz standards, arranged by Rembrandt, is performed with a delicacy of interpretation and intimacy that is rare. Through superb phrasing and remarkable collaboration, the trio achieves a level of musical grace that feels almost magical. Bravo!

Have a Happy cake and I enjoy your reviews a lot. Although lately I have not downloaded many DSD256 like before, because I ordered more SACDs. I blame it on PMG series.
