Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

Are Stealth Royale the speaker cables?

Right now the bottom are v18 and the tops are V16 Stealth. Will get a white matching pair of V18s once I figure amp placement

Just picked up a Lehmann linear se headphone amp and pre off ebay. It’s an older version but the price was sweet and should serve my purpose perfectly.

Gonna use it to feed a Schiit 100w amp for my outside system (I’ll buy that closer to spring). It’ll primarily be used as a pre-amp (fed from fixed outputs off my pass pre). The quality, form factor, and price was a bulls eye for me (and it’s black).

Great job turning the sanctuary into a temple for the stereo God! Must see how speaker placement changes when MBL does set up!

The white MBL’s look sharp.

I was pleasantly surprised with the black amps contrasting the white speakers…the amps may stay on the main floor when it is all said and done.

Love your system!!! Everything looks just plain awesome!!!

Should the amps be that close to one another? I’m thinking maybe too much of a heat buildup. Just saying…

A great system. I would also recommend giving the heat sinks more space and air. I would also consider possible crosstalk between the amplifiers and the loss of the advantage of mono amplifiers. I also don’t know how far away the amplifier (magnetic field) from your speakers is safe to be. Greetings and enjoy the great sound.

You guys are silly.

What a gorgeous and fascinating system.
I’m curious about when you would employ the second transformer. Or more precisely, when would you not have it active?

silly or cautious?

People should trust that when someone gets their system to that level they learned a few things along the way.

And probably could teach a few.

They require some space above the amps not to the sides. The internal structure is asymmetrical to one side so placement next to each other is not an issue. Also note that the back of the amp needs some clearance above. I am can essentially build a platform above the amps.

MBL instructed me to try various speaker widths starting from the narrowest to further apart for my room. The amps can be right next to each other and the speakers with no sound degradation.

Good question and I don’t have an answer yet. The 9011 amp was built to drive one extreme tower with the two MBL bulb sets with a 2 ohm load. I am fortunate to have 4 of the amps so they only need to drive one bulb set and a 4 ohm load. My guess is I will never use the 3rd booster switch and I am not sure I will need the 2nd booster. I will learn more when I have Jeremy in to evaluate the room issues. I currently don’t even have power cables plugged in for the boosters.

I am going to first figure out the speaker placement and then have an electrician come in and put in a separate junction box, grounding rods in the yard, and separate 20 amp lines for each Amp, each sub tower, as well as an analog line, and a digital line (8 x 20 amp lines in total).
