Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

No the FLS-3. Didn’t have a need at that time for the output of the FLS-10. Would be were I look at now though.

Always a cool looking amplifier.

Trying to track down a “local” dealer with the distributor. Doesn’t seem to be any, other than an audition at Axpona. I’ve asked for the closest dealer, then I can decide if it is worth a road trip.

Novelty aside, it provides a very practical modular update pathway for a couple their amplifiers, including The Audion.

I agree with you, 22K is too much for the Otello speakers even if they come in a special color finishing! My expectation is that we will find soon a lot of their speaker on the market at much less prices!
Having said that, they sound really good.

I’m getting one of these to try out for no particular reason other than curiosity.
It’s the ultimate USB to glass fiber converter that also uses Playback Designs proprietary PLink format which will do DSD 11.2mhz over glass.

Should be fun to see if there are any discernible changes.

Unfortunately the dealer was a bit unrealistic. I would have liked to audition them. His inflexibility undermined the sense of a five hour drive to hear and possibly purchase them. I am happy to hear you are pleased with yours.

Sorry to hear that, then we wonder why local dealers are disappearing!

I was disappointed as well.

That’s GaN FET with a twist (er…Tube I meant).

I’ve been very happy with my Orchard Audio Ultra Modules and now that I’m building solid Silver wired Amplifiers for Ernie @ ArgentPur. It takes these PCB’s up to a level where I’m missing my Black Ice Audio F100 Amps (awaiting my KT170 tubes - sold the PS Vane Kt88’s that came with them to pay for the 170’s).

His Interconnects and Speaker Cables truly do make a difference and I’m a Cable Denier !!

Let me talk to Ernie @ ArgentPur. And we can “hook you up”.

Your amp is a dual mono Ultra ?

I can turn it around within a week if you send me the Amps or I can pre cut the Silver wire for the AC power, Speaker Binding Posts, and send it to you.

my email is rajugsw@gmail.com

Ernie’s email is ernest_meunier@msn.com

or we can have a conference call with Ernie. He’s in MA, I’m in AZ. Where are you located ?

Cheers,
Joe

Joe this Jerry in MD LOL

If no soldering i can do it, soldering maybe my friend

Puritan PSM 156 back from the “doctor” and inserted in the system. At this point it sounds like it could benefit from some additional burn in as several caps were replaced as well as remounting the circuit board.

Good grief. It boggles my mind that that much damage could be done in shipping.

Surprised the heck out of me as well. We all came to together and worked it out in the end. Both the seller and I were very surprised as to the extent of internal damage. The shipping box showed no sign of rough handling.

All of the nylon fasteners that mount the circuit board to the chassis failed, where upon the circuit board just banged around inside the chassis on its way to its destination. A handful of caps required replacement as well as all the fasteners.

Maybe it was damaged before it went into it’s shipping box. Yeesh!
