The “devil” on your other shoulder - They are killer class A, can find a used cable, can replace a space heater in the cooler months to save money, we’ll find a couple amp stands, there’s plenty of room
Don’t do it Ron–for the sake of the employees.
“Take them back he said. Then bring them back he says. Oh my achin’ back.”
Nobody needs this stuff, Ron.
Can you afford them?
Will they bring you Joy?
Do you want them?
Will they make your system sound better?
Do they have fuses?
Answer “yes” four times and “no” once, then…
Food for thought,
Cheers.
You’re hanging out with the wrong crowd if you want that kind of support.
Oh Brother, don’t i know it!
Lon–you should have seen these guys. One guy picked each amp up off the floor and settled them gently into their boxes. Sheesh!
Wait a night, if tomorrow you still desire them… go ahead without further hesitation!
Good advice. I usually give things time to see if the flame goes out before I make a big purchase.
They do sound sublime though.
Kudos to PS Audio!!
Thanks to their generous trade-in program and Axpona sale I just upgraded to a PowerPlant 15 from a PowerPlant 3. Well worth it!
Very smart move. The improvement will keep you happy for a long time.
My XA160.8’s are close. 600 or so watts each idling. I keep threatening to sell them and get some AGD SOLO ganfets but the Pass amps sound sooooo good.
The Pass amps do make really good room heaters too.
I thought you did not get trade in when there was a sale? Or was that my banked dollars I cannot use during sale?
Not sure all their sales have the same policies. Your best bet is to call and talk to them.
For the Axpona sale they are offering trade-ins on top of the sales price in which case I would think your banked dollars can be used. Occasionally I’ve seen them offer extra trade-in credits if you’re trading in PS Audio gear.
Hahaha. You are in the wrong place looking for moderation advice. A mirror would be better.
Not mine, but a screaming deal.
The correct answer is of course NO on all of questions above, but deep-down you know at least three of them were fake answers
If a good night’s sleep clouded your mind even more the next morning; this can only mean that you are an addict.
This reminded me of more than 20 years ago. I trained every day and often stood in front of the mirror. My brother gave me something similar.
That is a nice piece! I missed my BAT VK 5i pre sometime, but the darn thing needs 10 tubes! What on earth does a pre need 10 tubes? But my BAT 150 mono needs … I forgot, too many to count.
By the time I needed to change tubes for the 2nd time I decided to sell all BAT. The re-tube alone could afford me a PSA pre.
Also, you have to like the tubed sound. I tried a Bat Rex II in my system before. It is 2 units, contol and power, so take up a bit of room, and boy does it run hot like a class A power amp. The sound was sort of a shock as it sounded so different to what I am used to with solid states, but if you like that classic tubed warm thick sound, the Bat has it in spades. Not the last word in definition, transparency, and detail though, compared with my Esoteric.
