Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

I didn’t listen to them. I’ve heard them before tho and they sound nice. It’s hard to tell in a massive showroom.

Glenview ABT? Can’t say I ever crossed the threshold. I am I missing something?

You have never been to Abt? Wow! It’s not a destination for two channel audio enthusiast. They sell everything kitchen appliances, TVs, car stereo, beds, exercise equipment, there is an Apple Store inside it also. They sell Bowers and Wilkens, Martin Logan, Focal, JL Audio, Auralic, SVS, Kef, and McIntosh, Parasound and some other small brands. I went there because they had a 20amp AQ cable in stock that I need for the PZ 3.20. Once I returned the PZ 3.20 I returned the spare AQ cable. A free rental with $500 refundable deposit.

Aware, but never entered. Did not know they carried audio equipment. Interesting.
Surprised that they would have the Martin Logan Neolith as I’d think it would be offered in a boutique style store.

They were contemplating expanding their audio section, having a Martin Logan demonstration when the Neolith first arrived at the store and powering them with McIntosh 1.25kw monoblocks, and had Mark Levinson 536 monoblocks powering Bowers & Wilkins 800D2, 800D3 and 801D4 through the years, which actually sounded quite nice, but have since squelched their higher-end gear for the more affordable gear that gets purchased.

I purchased my Auralic Aries G2 there. It was a shelf display unit. When they decide to blow out a component that’s been sitting around and not selling there pricing gets very hard to pass up. Last year they had Martin Logan’s top of the line center channel that retails for $10k someone returned it the speaker sat for so long the last price they gave me was $3200 before it sold! That was hard to pass up but I did pass it up. :confounded:

I’ve just added another Dream 2020 20 amp PC in my system, feeding the second Puritan. It sounds nicer, really nicer, than before when I had only one of them in use.
And I’m ready for the PowerZone, when it will enter my room in 2025.

If PowerZone is as good as EVERYONE who has heard it, my Puritan will soon be serving the TV and Formation Bar/Bass with its original Class+ cord. I do not need a Dragon for TV.

P15 is too big to fit under the TV stand, maybe I will power the bedroom TV with it.

I guess you’ll need only the PZ soon and the best power cord to feed it. Good times ahead!

Just don’t listen to the PZ in your system before 2025 because that will make time seem like forever!

I’ll do my best but can’t guarantee anything!

I know you will get there soon and provide a better review and descriptive summary. All I can say is it’s fantastic and that sums it up!

You are edging closer to a complete room overhaul. It’s been months.

Luca said onetime his room is not totally square, and as a result he has to compensate 50 things to find the correct balance (water vapor voodoo saved him). Every audiophile knows that’s a no-no sin, let alone a perfectionist like Luca.

He may have to do some major structural modification to that room to find the right balance.

Na. After finishing the last project, he has had other thoughts. Maybe a white room instead of a dark one. Paint it with light. Has anyone done black light in a while?

Oh if I had to change again… I’d certainly build a “clean’ front wall, no furnitures at all behind the listening position too.
That is my project once my son will leave us to live on his own (he’s searching for a new house lately). One step at a time, my friends but I have a project in mind, shhh don’t tell my wife!

Just order a Dragon PC to go with the PZ - they should both arrive about the same time.
