Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

The power cords for Powerplant and Puritan have made the most improvement over PC for any other component in my system. PZ loves a good power cord as I understand. So yes, it’s the single most important power cord in the system I believe.

I have used AQ Dragon HC on both P15 and PSM-156 and it made a great improvement. However, it could not compete with ZenWave PSR-11 (remember that😆). Dave said his customers buy it instead of Siltech Triple-crown because they are on the same level. I have no doubt because the improvement over Dragon is substantial.

Don’t think they would have worked in my room. I’m betting on sealed speakers for my space. I’ll know soon enough.

Good luck! Congrats and enjoy!

If the rumor is true, and if Omega does not provide enough improvement to satisfy my appetite, then of course Stealth would come in play.

Unlike some naive audiophiles here, I realize there’s no endgame in streaming. It is an expensive merry-go-around, and along the way it would supply you with the best-taste candies (also expensive)

Oh, thanks Donald, I hadn’t thought of Zenwave even though I was the one who brought it to you. The Zenwave is a good option and could probably keep up with a Stealth cloude Grande AG.

The muon pro cable with the system is good but I do like the Stealth Cat 8 without the tuning ring with the pro filter. IMO the music seems more accurate and detailed over the muon Ethernet cable. Could be Stealth synergy? Idk about synergy but I do know I like it.

Big upgrades the past couple of months.

Hifiman Susvara

DirectStream MK2

All things balanced once again, as they should be, until the next upgrade.

Have you compared Octave and Sextet of Stealth?

I have not. I’ve only used the octava and for Ethernet it’s the Black Magic V21 no tuning ring.

That’s quite a bit more “reasonable” than the T-select. You like Cat 8 better with Muon Pro. Hmm, I wonder if Al will take your advice because he may think it’s too cheap for him.

Yes. $1500 extra for a tuning ring is excessive.

Fantastic. Congratulations!

Donald, I bought the Stealth Cat 8 Ethernet cable ( no ring) over the Muon cable solely on Luca’s and Paul’s recommendation. I did not listen to it.
I did try the Omega vs. the Stealth Octava XLR’s and gave the Octava a slight edge. There could have been a Sakra bias at play too. Al has been updated with my cable-go-rounds and I probably got my models crossed up on one of the demos.
So, your Omega Ethernet cable could be just fine.

@dchang05 you might like the Muon Pro cable, give it a try and let your ears judge. I preferred the STEALTH ULTRA but my path is different:

  • I already have another Ethernet cable downstream (Pink Faun) and this is more sonically relevant than the Ethernet cable upstream (STEALTH)
  • I have a Tempus switch between the two Ethernet cables, no fiber connection like you
  • My router is just 2 meters from the rack, it’s exclusively dedicated to music with no other Ethernet cables plugged in it, and a dedicated fiber from the external of the house (with its own ISP bill, I mean)

Therefore you can get different results, even the Omega could well satisfy your needs/tastes.Once you add the Muon Pro in your system, please do also an experiment removing all the other LHY boxes:

Satellite > Ethernet cable at you choice > Muon Pro > MU2

YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED, I bet (my personal opinion is that you could reduce boxes and power cords with sonically benefits following a less-is-more and keep-it-simple set up in this particular case).

Maybe I’m wrong but worth the try, believe me! I can also see a Tempus switch in your future but you are still in vacation and I don’t want to attempt to your serenity right now!

I really like your idea of reducing boxes yet spending more soon idea😆 I cannot stand the thought of just a Muon Pro alone without switch (mine has two). That makes me felt almost like naked on the beach!

I am praying the duet LHYs can beat or enhance Muon, and they will live happily together ever after. Until Luca my friend discovers something new again.:tumbler_glass:

Just my opinion. Donald has a good foundation with the two LHY switches with fiber optics. The muon Pro directly in front of the Grimm ensures that the switch and supply line are captured and self-induced noise is filtered out with muon pro just in front of the streamer. And when you’re thinking about high-quality Ethernet cables, don’t forget Ansuz. Their power cables are also interesting. In terms of price, it goes a few steps beyond the stealth cables mentioned above. I was also told I should try the connecting cable. Even smaller models should be able to beat an Audioquest Dragon connection. Maybe there is an even higher level than Sakra? I’m tempted to try a cable. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I have abdicated in favor of @aangen - from now on I have decided to sit seraphically on the river bank waiting to see the corpses of my enemies flow by!

My Muon pro filter is connected to the isolated Ethernet port on the SW6 then the stealth black magic comes out the other side of the muon and connects to the MU1.

I’ve just read from @dchang05 profile

Over my 40 years into this hobby, I can count with one hand on how many instances of spectacular progress that had happened with my system

3 of them (you named “miracles”) happened right in less than one year… the 2024! And before it ends what November and December (Christmas after all is coming soon) can bring to the table?

Well, I count Muon Pro to be the potential 4th miracle, and it’s my early Christmas gift to family (ok, myself)

I’ll save my 5th miracle next year. Oh! The rumor is PSA is working on new amp(s). But 600s is not that old, interesting

The profile was created during PZ high, and I may need to read it myself for editing soon😁
