Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

Just came in today. :grinning: It’s on the rug at the moment just because I wanted to make sure it works. Tomorrow it’ll be placed right next to the LHY SW-6, and near the RS130, both awaiting connection to this thing.

Yes, I believe you! Unfortunately I selected the M2 pro version which I understand doesn’t allow that power upgrade :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Maybe some time next year I’ll see if I’ve got another Mac mini in my stable of computers which I could swap…

I officially flew over the cuckoo’s nest. A used No. 534 is back in the system again, and just arrived today. Initial report is a fuller, sweeter sound versus the 5302 amp (and I like the 5302). I figured I would try this amp again now that I have a preamp and DAC I really like. Oh, and got rid of 2 components to gain 1 back. Progress.

I haven’t listened to the Mark Levinson 534 but I just installed 2 Mark Levinson 5302 in bridged mode…it’s a treat in terms of detail, speed and breadth. They are coupled with a Mark Levinson 523 preamp.

Its sounds like the Pro has an even more powerful power supply. One never knows the changes might make it quieter and you’ll be completely happy with the USB ground and better AC power cord.

I know when I try to galvanically isolate the DS MK2 DAC by lifting ground on the USB I don’t care for what I hear versus grounded. I use a Inakustik Pure Silver Referenz USB I am thinking it already handles ground noise well. The
ground lift all of a sudden gets more what I perceive as too much noise from the background that is interfering with the clarity of the source material.

I am now able to compare a 534 to a single 5302. They are both nice, but they do not have the same sonic signature. The 5302 is brighter and more immediate, the 534 has a softer and smoother upper treble. The 534 has more bass warmth, the 5302 has less bass warmth. The 534 definitely runs hotter.

Happy Birthday :birthday::partying_face::tada:

:cake: enjoy a slice! I’ll have one soon after a 3 miles run/walk which really defeats the purpose. But hey, it’s your birthday.

As long as I am experimenting today. This combination also sounds nice together…

I really like the Powerzone on top! All you need is a Darth Vader Bust.

200 watts, Class A, $2.2k. You could sell your amps for more. You just have to talk them in to shipping it. Class A brother, it seems nice.

Ha! This one is nice.

Did you know my first hi-end amps were Krell? I think they were KMA 160, then I moved on to BAT VK150 all tubes. I have never had stereo amp, all monoblocks. But I like my current M1200  hybrid light weight.

I know it is time to move on. $20k used will be the range I am looking for, new or used. Silver will be idea.

24 hours out of the box, hooked up via 50 Ohm Amphenol LMR-400 BNC terminated cables from Times Microwave (when it comes to RF the audio companies will have to prove they know anything, let alone more than companies working in microwave and radars for a living…).

Um…

Very nice.

Happy birthday Joe!

Seems kind of weird replying to a deleted message, but it works …

I saw that photo and thought that name sounded familiar … checked my email and there was one from Upscale Audio and they were talking of network upgrades. A post was linked in the email about one of their people wanting a clock for his 50th birthday. Turns out it’s the same clock! He’s using it with an EtherRegen switch. Say what?!
