So my big upgrade of the summer (that I have been waiting quite some time for) has arrived and is glowing–a Decware SEWE300B amplifier.

About 28 hours of use (following Steve Deckert’s ā€œfive on, five off, five timesā€ process through last evening) and the amp is seriously impressing me. I’ve done quite a bit of tube rolling (I bought the amp wthout tubes) and have settled on this complement as being the best for now:

1 each Amperex 6085
2 each Russian red-tipped 6N6P
3 each Mullard 75C1
1 each Amperex 5R4WGY
2 each Sophia Electric Classic 300B

These are producing a rich and resonant soundscape. The sound stage is beginning to become distinct, and I’ve set this up for a slightly laid back structure. There are no issues, and the beauty of the build is seducing me.

I popped it into the system right in place of my SE84UFO3 Monoblocks, so I’m using my Decware ZTPRE preamp, ZBIT balanced to single-ended adjustable transformer, and the Decware ZROCK2. My Decware/Turning Point Audio HR-1 speakers love this amp!

I’m glad the wait is over and very satisfied.

Now with 24 hours in service, my new Furutech FPX Cu receptacle is
warm full, blossom with beautiful crescendos. All that without losing any
of the quickness, air, 3D micro/macro sound stage qualities it first displayed.

Am so thankful…amazing new levels of music…

Best wishes everyone!

People have tried that and been shocked by the results, or so I’ve been told.

I’m still eagerly awaiting Donald’s cable test for a cable that might be suitable for my system. (preamp, DAC, streamer) After the myth of Stealth Dream Cable keeps popping up here, I searched on Google. Not only that you get branded SR champions in the Netherlands. That sound good right from the start. Generally you get good hifi stuff there. I was surprised at how cheap the Stealth cables are compared to Audioquest or other big manufacturers. Especially used stealth cables are available at a fraction of the price. Should I add Stealth Dream Cable to my wish list or would it be a bad investment? Stealth has a customized version of their cable for every application. I remember a few years ago my dealer offered me a stealth speaker cable he had traded for an Inakustik 4004 Air. I didn’t really like the look of it. It’s like a disco ball with unicorn glitter. Back then, stealth meant nothing to me. Since the price for such a thick cable was quite cheap, I thought that could not be the case with the auto scouter fair optics. I mean V16 or so like that. How is it that these cables have such a high depreciation? Doesn’t anyone know them, doesn’t want them or not as well as their competitors? For a used Dragon you have to pay at least half to three quarters of the new price. A stealth that cost 10000 you get after a year for 2500 for two pay 4000. I could dive my DPS-4.1 with NCF Fi 50/ 52 for almost no cost, if only because of the NCF plugs.
I’m going there without prejudice as I’ve never heard a stealth cable and don’t know what it sounds like. Only the loss of value makes me suspicious

I’ll wait and see how Zenwave cables fare against Dragon. I have already switched to Furutech NCF rhodium connections on my Dragon for the power station. And it sounds better to me.

I have not heard back as of when I will receive the Zenwave cord yet. I hope it (them) gets here by next week. I have not ordered the Furutech outlet because I want to test these power cords first. I am done with fuses, time to move on to wall outlet, and next week I will just order the Furutech.

I plan to move the Oyaide outlet to the TV room, my music sounds too ā€œsoftā€ to my liking now. I think for HT it may work great for watching movies.

By the way, I had a Stealth Dream V10 I bought for $1k, and I sold it for $1.05K. It was a thin profit after two years of usage; not bad!

It often proves to be an advantage to buy used hifi. Less depreciation and already broken in.

The Furutech Rhodium NCF ? According to Furutech Germany and Dave Zenwave, Furutech Rhodium NCF should sound the most natural and neutral than gold. Gold loses details and makes the sound warm/thick. There are also some advocates for pure copper. Only then should the contacts be cleaned and moved often so that no non-conductive oxidation forms.

It has a sticker on it that says:

The more you lick em, the more you like em!

Rhodium plated pure copper NCF. It is Furutech’s top outlet and people likes it. Will it give the advantage to Zenwave? Well, AQ Dragon is very neutral sounding cord too. But I think this outlet may give a fairer assessment on any cable review because Oyaide seems to reduce a bit of resolution, in my system anyway.

One thing for sure, I am very surprised how the wall outlet alter SQ of my system. Much more than fuses! Vmax should never try them because his system may be ruined. :open_mouth: :joy:

Yes, it’s amazing how a power supply changes the sound. I think that everything that has to do with the power supply in front of the power plant forms the basis for how the tonality, baseline of the chain sounds. It is advantageous if the plug and socket are made of the same material. A Furutech Rhodium NCF socket harmonises perfectly with the Furutech Fi-50 R NCF plug. (Has the PSRšŸ˜‰) Next I will swap my Inlet ICE on the amp for Furutech NCF Rhodium. Then the NCF connector fits perfectly. I hope that it will bring advantages in terms of sound as the built-in socket looks like a construction machine.

Donald, have you already been on vacation with your wife? It occurs to me that you didn’t want to make any changes before your vacation and that you shouldn’t plunder the vacation fund. Everything would be so easy if it weren’t for the addiction and striving for perfection. :joy:

The storm damage and the repairs to the house and car are still slowing me down.
