Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

Thanks, Al. You couldn’t be clearer! I’ll do my homework.

Interconnects are not in my plans, I need 8 meters length from MSB DAC to MSB Amp and Iconoclast are my definitive solution. As for analog rig I can wait because I’m using it so rarely (don’t laugh Vince and Donald!).

As for power cords I studied the website but I needed your confirmation about the right model to choose, really appreciate your opinion.

So Ethernet Ultra is on the way (it means 2 months), and probably the Double Tuned USB to follow, in order to complete my network path journey.

Next step could be the Dream V18 or V20-20 where I also need to find out if UNI is preferable or specific models are a better choice: amp could be my first step, then DAC and server.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking you are really thinking?

And if he would have switched from the Sakra V16 to the V17 he would have heard yet another major upgrade.

I’m declaring the APS transformer upgrade a major success. Took 100 hours to fall in love, I’m now there. I know the Mr Richard’s backstory was more contentious than it should have been (had my own tangle with the shorting plugs and a blown fuse on my streamer) but the APS transformers improved my mkii!

I agree, my APS upgrade was a great success too. 100 hours are just in break in infency. Wait until it has 300 hours, and you will wonder why spending more on anything else.

As I mentioned before, you want to elevate MK2 at least one inch above the rack since the transformer is warmer than before at the bottom.

This is funny to me. I have the second turntable in the demonstration, mine has an under $50K tonearm. Fun
Mine is on the left, the good turntable is on the right.

I can tell a difference in sound between DSD64 & DSD256 in my car!!
DSD64 sounds wonderful and DSD256 doesn’t play at all.

Time to get a new car!

The Fiio device plays DSD256 to headphones, but only DSD64 to the car.
When trying to play DSD256 to the car, it says file not found.

I don’t know anything about the guy who makes the TT on the left, but I know the guy who makes (sells) the one on the right and he defines “blowhard”. Yik.

At $360k plus arm and cart there is likely to be more baggage with the mfr and seller.

I recently purchased the Stealth V16 Uni and D10 for a nice price as their range is being exchanged by newer models. These prices beat those of used Dragons.
A very good deal, considering the step up in SQ. More refinement, ease and authority. Quite enjoyable.

I guess I never would have thought to consider these if it wasn’t for Al to keep pushing the brand… :ok_hand:

Who knows, someday even the higher ranged models?

I listen to both with with some EAH AZ-80 Technics earbuds and I can hear it right off the bat, the first table sounds a bit dry and grayish, but the second one had more life, clarity, and control, the music just pops out more. Second table with the gold platter is way better to me.
