Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

My PS Audio OCC copper ones are about an inch. They sound great but. . . maybe more girth would be better.

Well OK then. Nuke proof. I’d be all set for post-WWIII. Comforting. :o)

Are they sealed with a bunny repellent? lol

All kidding aside, I am curious to hear what they add to your system.

@elk is there any way, I can give permission to a few to edit my postings? Spell and grammar check, plus my proofing focus, aren’t doing well for me.

Soooo BIG! Congrats, really impressive speaker cables! Can’t wait to hear from you how they sound.

As for the Ethernet cables you are going to try: are they these ones

As you know I placed an order of the ULTRA model, that looks like this one

Mine is expected to be shipped early in December, so I’d be very happy if you were able to try the same model I’m waiting for.

Enjoy!

That cable is strong enough for my tow truck! Wait! I don’t have a truck. I dodge one thank goodness!

Those ethernet cables would drag down my small switch to the floor for sure. I’m not moving my Omega for streamer anywhere else😆

Don’t worry too much about it🤷‍♂️ I read my old posts and found 10,000 mistakes that I would like to edit or remove too.

Luca has made little grammar mistake from his 10,000 posts. For an Italian (I assume English is not his main language) I found that quite amazing

Good evening, 7 or 8 years ago I had a demonstration on my system with Stealth cable.
The thing that struck me was that just one replaced cable give a little improvement.
On the other hand, when alk cables were changed the effect was very audible. In other words, the effect was very good but you had to have a complete line of Stealth cables.
Is this still the case with new generations of cable ?

You are a gentleman, my friend. In fact I make 10,000 mistakes for every post!

I can’t tell you as I have all Stealth Audio cables.
I believe in a full loom from one source.

I can tell you that when I switched from a Stealth Sakra V16 to a V17 interconnect I heard a quite obvious difference.

Finally pulled the Bridge II Ethernet card from the DS Sr, as I am now focusing on optimizing the system streaming with the AirLens.

I replaced the Bridge II with the APS (JK Richards) power supply board, which I have not connected yet.

It’s a little early to draw definitive conclusions; but I think there is a bit more “smoothness” to the presentation and perhaps a bit more resolution (i.e., a sense of greater clarity).

More listening required to be sure…

I just saw this video through an Apple TV + Vanity PRO hooked up to my reference system. I thought the second turntable in the video sounded more open, present and less damped. I think that is the one you have. I prefer the sound of the second one.

Cable break-in is for real, and I have never had one cable that did not sound better after a couple hundred hours of playing! But my new power cord will be a new record in terms of break-in time.

I had the new ZenWave power cord in for over one month. Dave from ZenWave told me that PSR-11 power cord needs 2000 hours to reach the peak, I thought he was joking. Even AQ Dragon “only” needs 500 hours.

Well, the last two days I am starting to hear the magic. For who did not know I had demo both of their PSR-11 and PSR-14 power cords a few months ago, and I was shocked that they sounding better than AQ Dragon HC and Source in my system. So, I ordered the PSR-11 and waited a few months before I received it. Frankly it sounded veiled for the past few weeks until a couple of days ago.

If Dave was not kidding it should continue to improve for the next, I dunno, like another 6 weeks? But as of now my system finally reaches a higher level (compare to pre ZenWave period).

I admire your patience. I’d be wrapping it in a RF drain shield and giving it tuning rings or giving it a return trip. I guess good things come to those who wait.

Yes. Mine

I put a 3M tuning ring on it and it helped (from my demo experience). Still, today the system just sounded better.

No, I did not have any whiskey either

The other cable was a demo. At least you had a reference to wait so long. Whiskey takes 12 to 18 years. Power cords just corrode.

Congrats!
You deserve a medal for your tenacity. I admire the way you don’t give up. I haven’t learned that lesson yet, I’m more of an impulsive learner when I evaluate a new cable or a tweak: if I like it within a few seconds I invest my time waiting for it to be run in, otherwise I give it a second chance the next day, then I tend to abandon the test for another alternative toy coming soon.
Maybe I’m just losing the opportunity to discover new things, my bad!
