I haven’t tried it, but it probably couldn’t hurt. Graphene (one of the myriad forms carbon can take) is an excellent conductor. The only caveat in my mind is how well the goop used as the carrier for the graphene to “fill in the gaps” will act. I guess if there’s enough graphene packed in there, the goop will be expelled both out of and into the body of the female connector. A little messy, maybe, and hard to clean out of the interior of the female connector. Maybe it doesn’t matter.
I now have a Stellar Gold preamp and a PSA sub to go with my Eversolo A6, Levinson 5302 amp and LRS+ speakers. The improvement over using the A6 as a preamp is immediate. Thank you Caleb, Taylor and Chris. You guys are awesome. Was also good seeing @paul172@straightwire@pmotz and @Chris_Brunhaver
My next upgrade is KII 3 + BXT Active Speakers. I will sell off my Gryphon Commander Preamp, Gryphon Apex Amplifier, my existing racks, and pretty much all of my Stealth Audio cables. Also my Vivid Spirit speakers. The BACCH-SP adio may no longer be necessary as well. The KII 3 speakers are THAT AWESOME!
For my 2nd system. I can now listen to my main system with the FR20’s or my 2nd system with the LRS+ and don’t have to move or switch gear to enjoy music on either system.
@tony22 I know you went to both Axpona and FL expo. How do they compare? I went to NYC show, it was fun, not crowded, but certainly lacking in vendor participation
Al, I respect your judgement. But this reminds me of an event in an old guys life when he went from a 3 chassis line stage and monoblocks to an integrated amp; five boxes down to one, all paid for, cables sold off.
Some months later the one box became five–again…
I plan to set them up in such a way that will allow me to compare both systems in real time. My strong preference is to stay with what I have. I despise selling things.
It used to be the standard was 8Ω for power rating years ago when the FTC was involved and 90% of the speakers were 8Ω. Now, in the intervening years when the majority of speakers are 4Ω it becomes more relevant to rate them at the lower impedance.
And now it’s up to the manufacturers. In any case, it’s a 4Ω rating.
