Welcome!

I have heard the Estelon Extreme Mk II. They were driven by class A amplification from Vitus. The sound quality was simply jaw-droppingly good. So clean, so extended, so smooth, so grain free, so color-free, so impactful, so wonderful. If you ever get the opportunity to listen to one of these mega systems, don’t turn it down. The flaws in your own system will become immediately apparent, with an exclamation point. It was hearing the Estelon Extreme that help jump-start my descent down the rabbit hole (or was it getting the FR20’s, I guess both)

i remember like 22 years ago i lstened to a martin logan the sound sound it so crystal clear, and that sound i have not found in any tweeter yet, i mean in the cheap price range;

do you think speakers today are more expensive than before because twetter technology? or do expensive vintage speakers sound the same as expensive speakers today

take a look of this mono from the 50, it looks so cool:

what is the new stuff today? i guess today when they make speakers they want the wife be satisfied whit beautiful small speakers maybe some litle standmound but that makes like “big sound”? or maybe is speakers today more acustic friendly? i mean think what would the “wife” said or what kind of sound will you get in a normal room today whit a speaker like these:

i dont undertand how can you play these giants in small room?

ps. if i had a castle i guess i will sure have this beauty:

Newer Martin Logan speakers in 2026 can sound quite nice, especially if you have something good feeding them. Last year at Axpona, Martin Logan ESL11a speakers were driven by a Gryphon Diablo 333 integrated amp. That integrated amp is not cheap, and definitely cost more than the speakers, but the sound quality of music in that room was nicely impressive. The answer to your question is yes, but will depend on what kind of price point you are thinking. PS Audio’s FR20’s are a different world better than my old Infinity Modulus speakers, but do cost a lot more. The advances in the technology of the drivers has resulted in a nice improvement in sound quality. Magnepan LRS+ at $1000/pair might be one of the best speaker bargains in the audio world right now, but the FR series speakers are much cleaner and more open sounding.

that is really very good price, here in scandinavia it cost duble 2000 dollar a pair
i guess Magnepan use the room as bass extension, in compare to the others speakers, there they must think about acoustics, like foam inside the cabinet etc

What foam? What cabinet? This is a profile view of the LRS+
