Actually, this looks pretty good. I’ll look into it further, thanks.
Looks like I could put a mesh satellite up there and connect to LAN, then stream from Roon to the Powernode as an endpoint. (Yes?)
And does it support Bluetooth connectivity to an iPhone? (Honestly, I can’t tell… As I read the specs, I see “amplifier”, “streamer”, and then “blah-blah-blah.” I’m not that up-to-date on technologies.)
We did our daughters office with a Bluesound Node and a pair of these Edifier speakers it gets you all in at your budget. Speakers are surprisingly good. I use a higher end pair with the TV. Either use Bluetooth or connect the Node direct via the analog inputs or both.
@RobH A friend of mine just went through a similar exercise and decided on the NAIM Uniti Atom and a pair of Totem 1 speakers. That will be her primary system and may be more than you want to spend, but she did a lot of research and listening before settling on that combo. Cheers.
i like the KEF LSX II idea… roon ready, all you need. Close to $1000 used. ($1399 new i think)
other option is an Eversolo DMP-A6 streamer ($850) into a pair of Polk Hampdens. (Find em used on ebay for $150). Nice screen for roon and other streaming, suprisingly great sound from the Polks.
in theory you wouldn’t need the streamer, and could just bluetooth from your phone to the polks. (Or hook up an iPad to them. They can take analog via a 1/8" phono plug, bluetooth OR USB.)
