I have a DirectStrem DAC running all the latest software and use Roon. This week I opened the DAC to check on the fuses. I had opened it last week to install the AudioMagic Beezwax fuse. Everything worked fine after the change. This week I was checking the other fuse holder to see what was in there. I buttoned it all back up and reinstalled it in my system. But now for some reason I am no longer getting the Album Art in the LCD display. The meta data for the song playing appears just fine but the Album Art never appears. All I see in that square is the PS Audio logo. I can’t believe anything I did checking the fuse could have caused this. I am confused. Anyone else seeing this? I was wondering if the 216 Roon update could have caused this and it’s coincidental to my checking the fuse. Although they pushed 218 last night and it’s still the same way. I have rebooted the DAC at least five times to see if the condition changes but still no joy. Looking too see if others are having issues. Thanks.
Check to make sure you didn’t accidentally bump the SD card and cause it to eject from the slot. The SD card must be inserted for art work and it’s easy to bump it and it disengages but doesn’t come all the way out, so easy to miss that it happened.
The machine is playing just fine. Would it play of the SD card came out? Checking it now.
WOW!!! You were dead right. The SD card was loose. I powered down the unit, plugged the SD card back in and re-powered the unit and bam the Album Art is back!! Problem solved. Thanks so much. It was driving me nuts.
The cover art on my DirectStream DAC has stopped working. I’ve tried removing and inserting SD Card many times with various on/off switching of the DAC but still not working. I’ve tried using a 16MB (smallest I have on hand) with no results. I tried deleting the cover art file from the PSA SD Card but my computer reported it could not be deleted. What else should I do fix this problem?
If your computer reports it could not be deleted, it sounds like your SD-card is corrupt. Try reFormatting it.

I found the cause of my problem. I had moved the DSD and the movement had caused the lock slider to move into the lock position. As soon as I discovered this and moved it back to unlocked, the LCD screen began showing cover art again.
I’ve tried reinstalling Huron several times in trying to get the album artwork to work. Each time it seems to work, but only for a song or two. Then it goes away and won’t come back. I’ve reverted back to Pikes each time in between Huron installs. I’ve reformatted the cards and put clean installs on, BTW. One thing I’m wondering is maybe playing DSD files throws the DS Sr off. I think each time it didn’t recognize the DSD files artwork and then wouldn’t for streaming files from there on. I’ll test this theory again tomorrow.

What version of bridgeII code are you running? You might try upgrading the the latest MQA version of bridge code, which is available today.
Dennis
I’m not at home right now, but I think it’s 2.7.11. I’ll update the Bridge and see if that takes care of things. Thanks Dennis!
Excuse my ignorance, but why do yo need an SD card in the player to see album art?
Christian saidExcuse my ignorance, but why do yo need an SD card in the player to see album art?
Because that is where the album art is downloaded to for display on the front panel.
Dennis
I didn’t have a clue.Thanks, I will try this out!
Hi,
I have been looking all over my dsd, but where is this lock switch to be found?
Thanks, Ronald
I suspect bfarrand is referring to the tiny sliding lock on the SD card. If the card is locked, the DSD can’t write to it and the artwork won’t be displayed.
Ofcourse, I should have thought of that. In my case it was also the missing SD card preventing the dsd showing cover art.
Remains my surprise (not using stronger words) that such a sophisticated devise relies on a SD card for a rather important function, instead of downloading the images on a dimm inside the dsd.
Thanks, problem solved!
The lock switch is found on the edge of the memory card. If you remove the card from the DSD and look along the edge on the side opposite the 45 degree corner, you’ll see a very small sliding switch. The label should show which direction is locked and which is unlocked.
