After the Martin Logan thread, why not one about MBL?
I will start: I began with Tannoy D70s, that I still keep and use in the HT system.
Then I got Cabasse Artis Kara speakers : great at everything except bass.
Then B&W 800 D2s, great speakers.
And finally MBL 101 Es, about a year ago.
Compared to the B&Ws, they are faster, with more air, more resolution and more « you are at the recording session » realism.
I would love to hear from other owners or anybody else.
I got my MBL101E II speakers a few years ago and never looked back.
They just disappear and present the most holographic imaging I have ever heard.
Adding the (2) REL212SE subs made it into “Mini MBL Extremes”!
EMMLabs DV2i D/A
Rowland 925 amps
Taiko Extreme music server
Stealth Audio cables
My new Sony 77” A95L OLED is amazing and used daily, so no way would I not have in the room.
Would the audio improve without having it on the front wall, yes probably. Oh well…
I have (6) Stillpoint Aperture diffraction panels, (4) panels on the front wall and (2) panels on the back wall. There are powerful acoustic treatments that work well.
Getting back to the MBL’s, I am also amazed at how well they work with movies. Along with the REL subwoofers it is quite the experience!!
Yes there is another fan of the MBL 101 E MK2. They work with Mark Levinson (523 preamp and 2 amps 5302) and a Rockna Dac.
I confirm that they work very well on films.
The components are: Zidoo Neo Alpha, Innuos Phoenix USB, Rockna wavedream signature DAC, Mark Levison 523 and 5302 (2) with a Furutech Vault power strip and a Nordost Qkore1.
