I’m thinking of using it for a project. I’ve used RoHS solders before, but primarily Cardas Tri Eutectic. I’ve heard the Mundorf is hard to work with, but my technique is pretty good. Clean surfaces to be soldered with IPA, flux appropriately, use the right temperature on my Hakko iron. Clean afterwards with appropriate cleaner.
I have and use both. It doesn’t flow as easily as Cardas, but in general it’s not a problem with good technique. I mostly use it on cables. I’m sure I’ve used it on through hole PCBs before, but can’t remember anything about how it went. I guess that means it must’ve been fine.
Thanks. Yeah, it’s PCB work. I know the stuff is costly (to say the least!
), but maybe I’ll do some practice on a scrap board. Refine flux utilization and temperature.
