Anyone using Paul's Maestro Music management system?

Will check it out early in the am. Enjoy the sauvignon Paul

Thank you !

I’m looking forward to trying it.

I know! many are anticipating its release. BTW, with 1422 posts to sift through it would be easy to miss Paul’s answer. Glad to help.

Too many posts ! Folks must have lots of time on their hands. Lol.

I have been testing Maestro since day one. Because of the size of my local music library (around 7TB, containing approximately 4,000 albums in AIFF and DSF formats), I was never able to successfully complete the library scan and Reading File Tags process.

Over the past month, I have been communicating with Paul by email, sending log files for almost every new version. Paul has been incredibly responsive and has replied to most of my emails with fixes and suggestions.

Throughout the testing, I have seen steady progress and continuous improvements, although I was still unable to get my library working correctly until the latest version, 11.0.182.

I suspected that PCM (AIFF) and DSF files might be causing different issues, so I decided to test them separately. This morning, I upgraded to version 11.0.182. The scanning speed and Reading File Tags process are now significantly faster than before. So far, I have tested only my PCM (AIFF) library, and the scan completed successfully. I will test my DSFlibrary later.

Browsing the library is also much more responsive than in previous versions.

If you primarily play music from a local library, I believe Maestro has now reached a point where it is well worth trying.

A big thank you to Paul for all of his hard work. The software sounds absolutely outstanding.

Since the last several versions, Maestro keeps playing the same track on Qobuz - it will not advance to the next track. It shows that the next track is playing but it replays the same track over and over again. If a double click the next track, it will play but shows the error below see screenshot. Works fine on local files… EDIT: Nah, getting weird random track repeats and playing wrong track on local files as well. I’m using Windows and am getting the same behavior on 2 different Windows machines. Oh, and the “Play next” button next to the “Play now” no longer works at all - it does nothing.

Same for me. Then " Still shaping took too long — continuing with the tracks we have so far."

What about Android?

I am finding 11.0.182 the most stable version yet, running on a silicon Mac. Scanned my local library, Radio Stations work and no issues that I have found yet. Just listening to the wonderful sound Maestro is producing on my system. Amazing and Paul deserves all the praise he gets.

Can you have a look to see what version you are on for me? Found a bug where updates don’t fully take effect until a computer restart. Working to fix that now, but what you’re describing could be something unique to your setup.

I see Bridge II is what you’re playing to.

If you’re on v182 and rebooted and this is still happening, please send me a log. It’s in the help menu at the top of Maestro. Download the zip file and email me or use the support system. We will get you up and running.

oops. never mind. I see you’re on 182 and you sent a support ticket. Let me have a look.

Updating to today’s release v183? Two quick notes. (1) If Maestro has been acting strange lately — login loops, issues a reinstall temporarily cured — restart your computer once after updating. I found that an older copy of Maestro’s background service could keep running in memory after updates; today’s release detects and heals this automatically from now on.

(2) Mac users: if your network devices don’t appear after the update, macOS sometimes resets the app’s Local Network permission — go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure Maestro is enabled (toggle it off and on), then relaunch. If neither helps, send me your logs — the new release tells us exactly what’s running, which makes fixes fast.

I simply quit and restarted the app after upgrading it to v183 and all was well.

Still some bugs in Ella Radio which I am working on now.

I had 182 installed. It doesn’t run. Going to [Maestro] doesn’t run. Uninstalling and rebooting, reinstalling and rebooting, nothing matters. I am dead in the water. Can’t send a file cause Maestro doesn’t run. Tried earlier version, no help.

Update: Wiped any directory titled “Maestro” from my machine. Rebooted. Reinstalled 183, rebooted. Its working again. fun.

I had to do like, 12 mouse clicks. I’m exhausted.

Finally loaded the local files, not sure if it’s all of them.

Still splitting multi disc albums into an album per disc. Also it is labeling multi disc albums as duplicates.

Why is there a pause between tracks playing a local tracked album of FLACS?

V183 now, too.

Also - it’s sticking MP3 versions into the same album w/ FLACS. Please no.

Sorry. Hang tight. Working on a fix.

V184 just shipped. This fixes the problem. Let it do its thing, then log in, quit, reopen and all should be good. Sorry. We found a major bug where the two halves of Maestro weren’t communicating and synchronizing which caused a lot sometimes the fixes worked for some and not for others. On the ones where it didn’t work the one half hadn’t caught up and had the old code in it.

Maestro did this update in the middle of playing music interestingly.

The music still does not run smoothly for me on v184. It seems the program would not start a song right the way. I clicked a playlist, no sound came out until I re-clicked it a few times. But then the first song would start later again so there was a long delay on playing.

I will try it later because I use two streamers and I do not know if it has anything to do with the delay.

The trials and tribulations of a digital world. Typing this wore me out:hot_face::hot_face:

Happy cake day! @Paul

Happy Cake Day my friend!!!
