Someone did use the Flux 50, but not sure if it’s with any of the above noted cables! Here:
Anyone added a Furutech Flux 50 BEFORE their Power Plant? - Power Components - PS Audio

I’m the poster of that thread.
I’ve used two of the Furutech Flux 50 NCF filters.
One in front of my P20, (I know you’re not supposed to) and I’ve found it helps my music and home cinema audio systems.
The other one goes before my projector for the home cinema video side.
Again I like what it does.
I’ve no AQ power cords so I cannot answer the above query.
Thanks to both of you. I already have 5 Furutech Flux 50 NCF filters at the end of my Wireworld silver Electra 7 power cords.
I’m considering upgrading to the latest Audioquest Hurricane, Firebird, or Dragon power cords and since they get outstanding reviews I’m wondering if the Flux 50’s would make any improvements.
@vmax where is best to use 3M AB7050 EMI and RF absorber on PS Audio Direct Stream Power 20?
Since this is the Dragon Thread, I have to get this off my chest. It’s eating away at me. Guilt, worry.
I tried the Dragon HDMI cable for maybe 50 to 60 hours. I compared it to the PS Audio AC-12 that I’ve been using. Also, my Wireworld Platinum.
I sent the Dragon back.
There, I said it. I sent it back.
Hello, my name is Ron and I returned my Audioquest Dragon 48 HDMI cable.
It depends on if you have a US version or UK version of the P20. US version has a different Toroidal transformer size. I have a thread on P-15 and P-20 Performance Enhancements in Power Components sectio. that has dimensions and info on how to install 3M absorber on P-20. May others have been successful. Basically you need to measure what hole your transformer is installed in on center-bolt to front. Cut a piece that width by 8 inch length and install under the P-20 lid. Centered over the LED display.
All the info you need is in that thread.
I use the PS Audio AC12 HDMI at times and I think it’s a great cable.
On they have 12 step programs for those sins. .
Best thing you shortened someones break in period though it needs three times the break in you allotted to get really good and open up. I need to swap back in the RAL then determine whether to bag it or save it for when I get a 4K TV and use it for split out audio. The RAL HDMI is no video cable.
Thanks for your courage, your honesty, and willingness to try it out. Still on the look-out for a 1.5 - 2 meter WWPS7 HDMI.
Can’t have either of mine—nope–sorry.
Meanie.
Not enough time on the dragon’s for sure. The dragon 48 also benefits highly resolving systems so it definitely not for everyone. I’m not saying in anyway your system is not resolving btw. It is a general statement not directed at any individual and completely my opinion
I don’t think you gave it a fair shake. I have the AQ Thunderbird 48, and it took a good 200 hrs to really shine, and at least another 300 hrs to fully break-in.
I’m too impatient. And if something takes that long to come good, the mfr ought to do some pre-work.
My rule of thumb: it should sound good out of the box and better in a a few days. I mean good not meh.
Zactly. If I have to massage it for weeks, I start to think it’s burning ME in, not the other way around.
My belief is it comes down to personal preference or taste. Each and every system is different as is each listening room. I do recall my PSA DSD DAC took an incredible amount of time to break in, and until the most recent FW I was not bowled over by it. Sort of meh.
It would be hard to beat RonP’s system, from what I’ve heard about it. Resolution isn’t compromised.
As much as I don’t like burning in cables and gear, it’s just part of being an audiophile.
It would be nice if everything was fully broken in ahead of time, but it would probably add to the cost.
The Dragon may not work in all systems just like any other cable no matter what it cost. But for those that it does work, it can be a transformative experience. It is really indispensable once anchored in the system that works. In my system, it makes all the other cables sound a bit muddled and veiled. If the other cables like the WireWorld Platinum, RAL, or AC-12 works for you, that good too. Saves some money. Actually those cables was fine when I was using them back then also. Important thing is you enjoy your system.
