I put DBS box just like in @paul172 second picture shows and difference is dramatic exactly like Frank said. There is no comparison…now I really hear what this cable can do,amazing

Sounds like the DBS setup is system and personal preference is key! Regardless of configuration this Dragon 48 is amazing! It has taken my system to another level! I look forward to reading about other members Dragon 48 experiences!

I am holding out for the next Iconoclast analog cables. Or new monoblocks given Dragon analog IC prices. Comparing the ICs would be fun.

I removed the DBS box from Dragon 48 and the sound is more refined with about the same details. However, the music seems to have lost a bit body. I actually prefer to have it on the cable in my system.
I also tried adding a strip of 3M AB7050 absorber between the cable and the box. Now the sound is too refined and lacked energy. This is not a good application in my system.

I was told the Dragon HC shipping will be delayed again to mid. December. I hope my “early” Christmas gift will get here before Christmas. The Good thing is by then my Dragon48 should be mostly breaking in.
I have compared it to Firebird once a few days ago, and I will do another comparison next week and give a report in Firebird vs. Dragon thread.

The dragon HC power cable isn’t a available on the TMR website.
I guess I got lucky by jumping in early despite reservations with all the availability issues these days.
Availability and cost! The AQ prices are always going up so if you find a deal on Dragon or any of the higher end cables jump on it because of price and a availability.

Yes green LED shows tab to battery was pulled and dielectric and RF circuits are active.

I received my Firebird 48 HDMI on Friday. First impressions are WOW! Out of the box it clearly beat my Wireworld Silver Sphere. There was just more of everything. What did impress me most was the tone of sound. Just closer to what I hear at a live concert.
I can only imagine how much better it will sound when fully broken in or even what the Dragon would do.

The Firebird48 will continue getting better in the next few weeks.
My Firebird is fully burned in, and it took more than one month to do it. I compared it to AQ Coffee at two-day, two-week, and 6-week, and the last comparison was when Firebird finally was better in all areas.
