Special Reference Track - Muraudio - listening to Dave's mastering with Dave - YouTube Muraudio + Hegel
He’s probably got Stealth Audio undies on as well.
Really beautiful gear. Man…did I just transcend from Want to Need?
Aries sound takes your breath away thru the headphones, can’t imagine leaving that room…
“Apex” (a/k/a “The Hernia”), is the perfect name for the top of the heap model in their line of amplifiers.
…and I thought my new pass amps were big
If you mean want and need to win Powerball then yes on both!
I know, i need to buy Al’s PST badly, but the Dow crashed again today… ![]()
And you guys complain the P20 is heavy …. and mbl has similar sized amps. The Gryphon has two power cords, bet it’s not Class D! A whole ‘nother level of performance.
I asked if Al was around in a couple of the likely rooms and I just missed him. He too operates on a whole ‘nother level, but in this case it’s cost! I can’t follow the money …
I don’t get the “trees”. Sure, they help a little with high frequency, but you need to cover more of the frequency range. Maybe if you get loud enough the fronds sway in the breeze?
I stopped and talked to Galen at the end of the day (they started turning the lights on and off, hint, hint). He mentioned a couple of forum folks stopped by. I can follow a little better when talking face to face. He’s definitely on a different level from most of us.
Sorry if I already posted these. The LRS+ in the Maggie room very impressive for the size and price. The Eikon audio room was also very impressive for its small size!
Did you happen to learn what’s changed with the LRS+?
They were prototypes. When I asked I was told they are higher resolution. @adifferentpaul and @vee were also in the room with me. They may have more info.
Higher resolution and higher price. The LRS+ is $1000. They did sound quite nice, impressively nice.
Cabasse are active speakers and filled the room with sound.
Only listened for a brief minute to the Wilson Maxx, but did like them.
Spent more time in the Joseph Audio room, where the Pearl 3 sounded really good with Dashi tube monoblocks.
The mbl’s sounded good and are always cool to see in person.
The B&W 801D4 sounded just meh at Axpona. Have heard them elsewhere where they sounded fantastic.
Not the speaker you’d want to own if you had young children or pets. Looks like a good hiding place for cats, and kids toys.
