They are open baffle also.
How did they sound?
They sounded lively and dynamic.
I donāt see a sub in the photo. Howās the bass? Itās such an odd speaker. I canāt tell if I love it or hate it. Maybe itās just a curiosity for me.
Itās Ferrari Red and we are unhappy with the Amplifier. Donāt tell anybody.
Tonight we had a private party with Mikey Fremer in the house. He plugged a thumb drive into an MU1 connected up to my personal Ethos and spun recordings of favorite vinyl records until about 11pm. Then new people showed up and we went into the MBL Extremes room and enjoyed music until 2 am.
A for now un-named PS Audio forum member joined in and now he fully understands why I ordered a pair.
It was a fun night. Axpona was a blast as well. If you havenāt visited room 1527 yet, do so tomorrow.
I finally met adifferentpaul and Vee. We had five forum members hanging together for much of the day. We did not wrap ourselves in various foil tapes. Maybe tomorrow.
I have to get two Apex amps. Dang. I already have the Ethos that they didnāt mention.
All I can think of when I look at this display is OWās āThe War of the Worldsā.
TY, for the pictures.
My lips are sealed.
As mentioned above I went back to the Innuous room last night to check out the A/B/C comparison. Specifically the Zen Mini, Zen, and Zenith. Each had its own identical Benchmark DAC fed into a Stellar Pre. Elite headphones were used. They had āspecialā software that synced the music so the flow would be continuous as you moved from one streamer to another. When I got there no one was in the room but as soon as I started listening some people came in and started talking. Of course the headphones were open back so I could hear everything. Quite honestly the differences were minute. The Zenith was best but just by a hair (an expensive one at that). Iām sure the background noise effected that, but I thought the headphones didnāt sound that great. Maybe the Stellar as a headphone amp is lacking, but I think the headphones are $4000 based on a quick search so they should have sounded wonderful. I hope I made a mistake on that ⦠but Iām not a headphone guy.
In case anyone other than @aangen is thinking of getting the Gryphon Apex stereo amp. It weighs 450#
Was cool meeting (in alphabetical order) @aangen @minnesotafats @paul172 @rower30 @vee yesterday. Also met and spoke with (and purchased a UHQCD from) Anne Bisson early in the day and spoke with Kevin Deal later in the day
Gosh, you guys are making me so jealous! Thanks to everyone for posting pictures and comments. It almost makes me feel like Iām there! Almost.
Looks like Iām not going to Axpona. Even though itās almost in my backyard (Iām 20 minutes south of Schaumburg). Iām almost over a minor, but real, coldā¦not quite. Donāt want to cough and freak people out.
Iām super interested in the new KEF Reference 1 metas. I think room 739, Holm Audio. I bought my current Ref 1s from Mike Holm after Axpona 19. Thanks big time if anyone listens and snaps a photo!!
They surprised me at how wonderful they sounded. Amazing!
I found out Wendellās secret to the magic bass in the LRS+
Itās the prototype Maggie subs and amp! Very cool.
What a handsome group!
They did seem to be ātooā full-range to be just the panels. How did they sound the 2nd time around?
So in other words, the magic bass had nothing to do with the LRS+
