Thanks for your observation! I’m glad I’m not missing anything then. It was on my list of potential speakers at the time. Glad I went the other way.
Thanks for starting and contributing to this thread guys.
Couple years ago I went to axpona. Had a blast. Will go next year.
It always irritates me when someone brings kit to just display. When I went I want to say I walked into the gryphon room and nothing was playing. Pass had a big room - where you could ‘look’ at their amps.
@Gary_M I heard a pair of these Estelon’s last week at 3mA here, amazing base extension. Re-visit post 16 here, the Aries Cerat Youtube sounds good thru headphone/amp too. Looking forward to the live reports from the show.
Gersham Acoustics room. Very nice sound from a relatively small floor stander.
Linkwitz room, interesting design and really good sound. Not really a pet friendly design though. I see cat paws allll over that woofer). The first photo is the speakers, the second is the setup where the speakers are just seen in silhouette due to back lighting. The amps that make the system are on the stands behind the speakers and are nCore based. No DSP but it sounds like it is!
Acora speakers, sounded really good! The reel to reel is almost as big as my component rack. Not gonna fit in my room!
I have a new set of Gershman’s not out of the box yet.
Dynaudio Contour 60. Sounded fantastic with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, so lifelike. Didn’t do quite so well with other music but still sounded real good. The room is massive.
Scaena speakers, I have heard these at every AXPONA show I’ve attended and have always sounded just wonderful. Kind of a reference for show speakers for me.
Confidence 60’s
Triangle Art Audio room. Good sound, but oh those shiny turntables. Man, they sure are purdy!
Cabasse mini system in the Upscale Audio room. The satellites are about 3” in diameter and the “sub” contains the amplifier. Real impressive sounding for the size and a great answer for those situations where no regular speaker will work. I’ve got that situation on my main floor, but not sure if I want to spend that much? Sure did sound good though …
Lumin room, it was the distributor but didn’t catch the name and not in the guide. I’ll guess and say Lumin USA. Had an interesting discussion (no music) about how they do things and supply chain issues. The gist was the Lumin engineers are from the broadcast side of things and they take a different approach than the typical computer engineer on streamers, DAC and servers. He was not a fan of the DS DAC due to the upsampling to 20x DSD. They do not upsample preferring native resolution. I can’t argue with that, but I’m happy with my DS. That U2-Mini streamer (a new model) though sure looks tempting. As for supply chain, they have had trouble getting parts and had to stop making the T2 since they can’t get critical parts and don’t anticipate it for a long while. To get around the problem, a replacement for the T2 is being worked.
Audiothesis room, the rossoflorentino speakers are small but oh so mighty. Impressive for the size. Interesting side note, they had a Lumin streamer and Innuous server! After being in the Lumin room I asked why, he said the Lumin is a better streamer, the Innuous a better server. Huh.
Great thread. Thanks for the pics. Sounds like extremely well attended. Kid and work stuff thwarted any chance I had to go this year. Life will be simpler when they go to college and I retire………
You can hold on to this sentiment, if that’s what it takes to get you through the ____.
Well at least less time consuming, how’s that?
Sometimes…sometimes…
But it’s all good.
I’m grateful for all the Axpona show posters. I’ve read, and will continue to read them all. Thanks!!!
Sorry gents that were there today we didn’t get to meet. The day flew by and I was playing catch up from all the stuff I missed and still didn’t see today! It was great meeting @pmotz @adifferentpaul! I got to hang with both along with @aangen, @minnesotafats! I hope to see PS Audio and the gang there next year! I think this show should start on Wednesday and go thru Sunday! 3 days are not enough! I’ll get some more pics posted and answer some questions if I can. Thanks to all for posting there thoughts and pics from Axpona 22’
The Estelons were the stand out best sounding speakers at the show. But you would need to have a 600 seat theater to make proper use of them. Fortunately, the smaller models perform magnificently.
Ok. I’d like to take this moment for ps audio to consider axpona next year. @Paul I know there is some contention there. RMAF is dead correct? Don’t do it for ps audio. Do it for your fan base. I’m a Midwest guy. Please consider it for those of us that would love to hear your product. I miss this excitement.
Are these the speakers they played side 2 of Abby road on a couple years back? That was amazing
