Great different music and an orchestral piece!

I did not know the subs were there the first time.

Did anyone listen to the big Klipsch Jubilee’s
Thanks for the posts!

It’s no wonder you didn’t see them at first, looks like they were well hidden.

Older music was being played on them when I was there, so didn’t get a sense of their true sound quality.

OK - I have to know. What is older music?

Envious.

I’ve never heard a Gryphon product but it’s basically #1 on my list.

Are Gryphon speakers at the show?

No speakers in the Gryphon room.
I have an old 80# subwoofer that is not fun to move around. I cannot even imagine a 450# amp in my system, but would like to hear them powering speakers.

They were and they are small. Spouse acceptance factor high.

The use of mirrors is interesting! These speakers remind me of Short Circuit the movie!

I hope they sound nice. They look to me like a power amp you would put inside a Chevy van with foldout Maggies to entertain in a parking lot.

It is good to set goals.

Tonight we rocked the Extremes for almost eight hours. I think three people will order a pair after tonight. Listen to them at your own peril.

I got to tweak the sound of my personal DAC with filter settings with Fremer and he lit up like an Apple Phone person with a new model phone. He is all “what did you do?”. A half hour later he mentioned it again going out the door.

Buy expensive cables and you attract some pretty interesting people.

I am spent. After three days in a majestic audio toy box I am leaving town in 6 hours. My wife is leaving town Monday morning so I will have five days without adult supervision. It seems right.

Yes. I was thinking of the transformer that turns its self into a boom box.

And how long will they have to wait for delivery?

The Von Schweikert Audio room was very large yet they had two pair of relatively small speakers but they sounded good! I think the electronics helped …. In the last photo can you spot the high tech acoustic treatment? I wonder how that discussion went “Would it be ok if we put …”.

The Computer Audio Design room. They make a server, DAC and Ground Control “devices”. The discussion was all on grounding, no comparison listening with and without the devices so no confirmation from me that they make a difference. The devices come in three sizes: Small which is the white box in the rack, third shelf up from bottom and the two black boxes on the outside if each speaker. The medium is on the second shelf from the bottom. The large is in the right rear behind the speaker. Each device is filled with multiple layers of material (the larger the device, the more material) that absorbs noise and converts it to heat (but not enough heat to the point they get warm). The interesting part for me is they work in the MHz and GHz range. Seems surprising that noise in this frequency range on the ground makes a difference, but it’s probably not that different from what folks here do with the RF absorbing sheets. Sorry for the photo, my old phone doesn’t like the glare from the window.

Saturday night had a concert by Lori Lieberman. She was backed up by the Jeremy Kahn Quartet (I hope I got that name right) who are local. Nice mix of vocal jazz. Lori has been around since the 70’s and still has her “voice”. Best part was it was played at sane volumes. I skipped Fridays Blues concert just because I knew it would be loud.

In my opinion, the Estelon room sounded the best to these old ears.

Really did not like them. Mushy, ill defined, loss of high end. But loud!

Last day of Axpona. Please reach out if you are there. Would love to meet up!
