Belden ICONOCLAST Interconnects and Speaker Cabling

As your speaker cables burn in let us know how they perform for you…

How long did you perceive that it took for your Iconoclast speaker cables to burn in?

If I was rich, I’d pay for a reputable cable manufacturer to make me a reverse-engineered Iconoclast cable loom in 24k gold.
As someone noted… I’m a frustrated alchemist.
Goddammit.

Long before I knew of Iconoclast,
My God Blessed me with resources enabling me to purchase
a full loom of Nordost Red Dawn xlr ICs plus
speaker cables…

My Heavenly Father God is a giver…
He loves you…

Best wishes

This was just a fair reply ,showing the opposite point of view…whoever complained
needs to relax…and even come forward and be known…

If one can use the “Gd it” saying then the opposite should also be noted…balance things out.
We do have free speech after all

Best wishes everyone

Now that you dared mention that, you are mandated to give a detailed comparison of your experience with the Nordost loom and Iconoclast.
Maybe you’ve already done that, please direct me to that post if it exists.

Arenith…I wish I could…but as now I don’t have on hand any
of Galen’s designs to compare to…

As I read more and more of Galen’s writings …and gather up
what is understandable to me…Iconoclast xlr ics and speaker cables
may be in the offing somewhere down the road…

For now the Red Dawn loom is very gratifying to me…

Best wishe

Think so eh? Wonder what Gabrielle would say to that… :innocent:

That should be: from one star system to another.
However, I know this one friendly old moustache-donned gentleman’s theory isn’t exactly applicable to the standard theory, hyperlinked here in your post.

Now I’m wondering:
Could there be a design that applies superposition to speaker cables, avoiding the physical cable overall…

(I don’t even feel guilty of going too far, it seems like a recent theme here)

This is from the original script of Edmund H. North.

Is life scripted and narrated?
Ask your dreams. It is.
(Note: you have to be awake in the dreams to see this truth)

This isn’t off-topic in the sense that as Galen has mentioned at least once, physics can’t be evaded and this concerns our life as well as cables. Why not go into the concept of free will, allowed or not according to quantum theory? The brain is a quantum computer, with the microtubule theory we might have yotta-FLOPS of processing power. Imagine that!

Each of us has potential for wizardry. Galen doesn’t admit he’s a wizard and there’s no need to. We’re all equal.

“I feel that I am merely an agent, giving you some keys that have been given to me to pass on to you. These keys are to unlock doors out of your present prison. Doors opening onto new vistas. Doors beyond where you are now.”

― John C. Lilly

Thanks for the recommendation. Do you make your own power cables and interconnects too?

Yes, I do. I’ve mostly settled on Furutech cabling and connectors. The quality is fantastic. I also finish them with techflex and shrink tube.

I have also purchased pre-made cables and repurposed them. For example, I recently found a deal on a three meter Cardas Clear Beyond XL power cable. It was $800 from a reputable dealer. I purchased two sets of Furutech connectors and cut the cable into three 1 meter lengths. It’s a tricky cable to terminate properly because of the layers of shielding and jackets around the conductor bundles.

The battery was for a sense of scale:

Such clarity and pleasant forwardness noticed in vocals with the TPC. A window opened, human voice is no longer blended into the track like in a painting, it’s a very three-dimensional effect in good recordings. This is very new to me, I’ve had a great amp and speakers for a while and with the TPC this is a very pleasant realization of what they are capable of. Feels like I’ve stepped into high-end, FINALLY!
Also, ear fatigue, gone. Not to mention listening at lower volume is very fulfilling now.

Wow! I’d love to see your process. For ex., how do you make the cuts?
Next snowy day, I’m going into my “closet of forgotten cables” and have at it.

Congratulations on your new TPC and the upgraded performance
these have brought to your system…!!

When you asked for a comparison with Iconoclast…I couldn’t
as I dont have those. However, my previous set of speaker cables
were the BJC Ten White (5T00UP) 10 gauge and prior to that
Monster Cable.

From my recollection the Monster 14 gauge was detailed pleasant
in it’s presentation…moving up from there to the BJC Ten White (5T00UP) ,

The Bluejeans 5T00UP 10 gauge was a significant improvement over the Monster
in all aspects.

Just prior to the Bluejeans I was running the Monster Interlink 400s…
with those the soundstage would vary if I moved these Monster Interlinks
to do cleaning or other tasks …the soundstage would annoyingly change.

When I found out about the Bluejeans 1694a Canare rca…I purchased 4 ft
runs and 9 ft runs (preamp to power amp)…

Needles to say I was greatly pleased with Bluejeans cables.

During this time I kept sensing that my system seemed to suggest musical
details but not resolving them well enough. By this time I was using Bluejeans
xlr ic.

A Nordost 30th special with a significant discount happened to come long.
and the Red Dawns entire loom came home.

Now realizing this, that the Red Dawn speaker cables are Silver-plated 99.9999%
solid core OFC. and that the 5T00UP Bluejeans is all copper…the sonic improvements
in all categories brought by the Red Dawns was huge… hidden musical details now revealed!!

I cannot compare with the Iconoclast TPC speaker cable as I don’t have these.
It might be reasonable to assume the Red Dawns are likely to be faster
responding, lighter on their feet…with superb soundstaging front to back depth,
width and even verticality…than the TPC (copper) cables.

A fairer comparison would be between the Iconoclast SPTPC. speaker cables,
as these are silver plated tough pitched copper…The Red Dawns are 99.9999
copper silver plated…

Perhaps one day a pair of Galen’s SPTPC speaker cables might wind up here…
But until then I cannot say …I just don’t know…

Arenith hope this helps you some…

Best wishes

If you think the 1694 is good, then you would find Iconoclast BAV interconnects to be a noticeable improvement in air, detail and dynamics.

My previous post says that I am now using the Nordost Red Dawn…
full loom…Red Dawn speaker cable are Silver-plated 99.9999% solid core OFC
and the Red Dawn ics xlr ics are also Silver-plated 99.9999% solid core OFC…

Very hard to top…as stated in my earlier post perhaps one day one Galen’s
SPTPC set of cables might come this way…then perhaps a comparo could be done.

Best wishes
