BHK Preamp and Logitech Harmony universal remote

Hi Folks,

Does any one use a universal remote, like Logitech Harmony to control the BHK Pre ? All my audio/video devices are controlled by a Logitech Harmony remote and would like to add the BHK pre to it as well but it doesn’t seem to find the Pre in its database. I know you can teach the remote to learn from the original remote but there are too many functions in the BHK remote since it can control the Transport/DAC as well. Wondering if there is any easy way ? maybe the model name registered in the database has a different name ?

thanks in advance.

I have a Harmony system remote as well. PS Audio DACs and Tranports codes are preloaded by Harmony. The BHK preamp not so much. I programmed it in learning mode 1 button at a time. I only use one source so it wasn’t as complicated for me. The good news is if you have a BHK power amp and use a trigger wire, you can put both the preamp, power amp (DAC & Trasport too) in standby at the touch of a button. The bad news is the Harmony volume control raises & lowers the pre-amp’s volume 3 numbers at a time.

@nortonkp thanks. Yes, when I add the Directstream, the codes were preloaded as well.

PSA, any idea when the BHK Pre codes can be added to Logitech database ?

Has any one found a selection on the Logitech Remote database that will work with the BHK Preamp? I am not looking forward to manually programing in the remote functions.

I wouldn’t get too stressed about programming the Logitech.

I have done it myself and it was more simple than I expected.

Still, it would be nice if someone here could save you the effort.

Hope it all goes well.

Bruce

Manual programming is easy. Once you have done a function or two it goes very quickly.

Had to manually code my Logic Tech remote. At least you are only looking at 7 functions to program.

I used a Harmony Hub universal remote and I only had to program the volume function, which for some reason bumps volume up/down in steps of 3 at a time. Otherwise it’s fine.

I use my Logitech remote to control my entire system. I am surprised I have to manually enter commands for the BHK preamp.

Any progress on this? Any alternatives?

I thought you could adjust the rate of volume change in the Harmony remote. I’m pretty sure I did this for my current Classe Sigma.
