Lots of queue up devices available the most affordable referenced by @vkennedy61 earlier. I certainly wouldn’t rule out a turntable based on the auto feature alone
That’s what a chair-side table and a coaster are for.
Hi chris,
Another option could be buying used, pro-ject turntables like the debut carbon are on eBay a lot. The only downside is you might find a mechanically solid turntable with a beat up cart, and a replacement Ortofon red is ~$99. Also check out the Denon dp300, a friend has one and loves it. I don’t know if they come from the factory with the Ortofon red any more but his did and it’s really nice, it’s a fully automatic turntable, and very well built. Good luck
Welcome, @club_pizzazz !
I kind of did it.
I bought a Fluance RT-81 for $200. I found a seller locally that bought this thing and used it a few times and packed it up in it’s original container and and sold it to me.
So, I did end up with a used turntable, but not a ‘vintage’ one.
It is beautiful, works flawlessly, sounds great.
The seller threw in two extra cartridges (an AT and a Grado) I’m not really too confident to go tearing into the stock turntable just yet, it’s cartridge works fine so far.
Thank you all, your suggestions and encouragement helped me find a good deal on a table I like.

I would usually say the Rega’s as well, but only Europe side, when importing to the US, they’re priced out of a lot of equaling performing tables from US sellers.
Great tables, don’t get me wrong (I have the Planar 3 2016) but I think you can get more for your money stateside from US based manufacturers.
I may also suggest the Sony PS-HX500 which is quite a compelling new entry at the lower end, although around $500
I’ve got a MoFi GeoDISC I could probably drop in the mail as a loaner if you want to play with cartridges. Makes setup a breeze; it’s not gonna do what a pro can do though. Just DM me if you want. You could buy a couple more headshells to easily swap carts if you wanted once they were set up. Swap the front, dial in the weight, new sound!!
