Bridge 2.5?

Maybe this is why PS Audio has dropped it:

All black!

… for a most exceptional musical presentation, while stealthily placed on one’s component rack!

Oh wow, did you go on a factory tour? Great to see the AirLens under production.

I get the AirLens will be better than the Bridge 2.5 on sound quality, but it will be interesting to see if the Bridge comes out as a smaller and lower priced offering.

No but someone on Facebook did.

… dropped it because someone is wearing winter Birkenstock’s in the summer?

Maybe it was taken in winter? Roon certification does take a while. Lol

As I understand it, the Bridge 2.5 was dropped a few months ago when they got the parts issues for the AirLens sorted out.

The Bridge in a Box has definitely been dropped. (Just to be clear, this was an external adapter box for the old Bridge II to permit use with an I2S input, nothing new functionally). I talked to James at AXPONA and he confirmed they were not going into production as the AirLens would be coming on-line sooner than expected (though that has slipped again …). I asked him about getting one as a temporary solution and he wasn’t sure if they would be available. Once the delivery of my Mk II DAC was confirmed I asked again, and he said there were only two samples made. Therefore, nothing available for us common folk to use as a temporary solution … Bah!

Many thanks for sharing. I suspected no news was not good news for the Bridge 2.5.

Bit of a shame it didn’t make it to market given the versatility of the Bridge 2 card. It’s the only one I know that could get MQA 192k unfolding without needing a MQA decoder in the DAC, plus of course, DSD64.

Back to watching for any news on the AirLens then…

Shame, as a psu+box for existing bridge owners would be super cheap and a great upgrade

If there’s anything we’ve learned over these several years it’s that the PSA predictions of releases or timing mean almost nothing, so don’t lose hope yet for the Bridgebox. It could always make a rise from the dead if AL faceplants or never materializes to an actual product

Ok, will wait for Paul to ring the bell on this one, either for it’s end of time, or it’s going ahead after all…

I’d be quite interested in the Bridge in a box if it came out due to its lower cost and the versatility of the Bridge 2 card.

Was there an official announcement from PSA , in the forum or elsewhere, about this decision?

This is the first I have heard of it.

It came up here, but it was a long time ago and I can’t remember the details.

Hi @Paul, would you be able to say if the Bridge 2.5 is on pause or not proceeding? Apologies if you’ve already flagged as much and I missed the news…

Anything ever come of this, what’s its status?

It was nothing more than talk, all of which ended when the AirLens was released.

That’s unfortunate.
