Cable Concensus?

Are you one of the fed up?

Whisper Elite is a great cord. Vmax sent me a basic one to compare and I was impressed. But since I already have three Dragons in the system, I’m more familiar with the sound and their synergy. BTW, 3M tuning rings work great on Dragon too.

Nope. The easiest non-answer ever.

I’m simply referring to I can’t print paper like the fed does

I hear ya, I’m more prefer the ā€œbuy once cry once approachā€, middle steps are meh :stuck_out_tongue:

The consensus I’ve reached with myself is nothing makes any difference. Or is it everything makes no difference?

That is incorrect and you and everyone else knows it.

When you divorce a women or a cable it usually offers little reward to plug them in one last time for a memorable hookup. After all they both only offer the same sounds you were tired of before seeking the newer model.

That’s a little cynical, don’t you think?

After all, cables can change, right?

I make it easy for myself. Paul likes the Audioquest line, so I do too :person_shrugging:

Can’t we ask an AIchat bot?

I have a Zavfino MAJESTIC MKII OCC TONEARM CABLE. I’m delighted with it, mainly because when I bought a new tonearm a few months ago the supplier included it for no charge. That was on top of the discount I got on the tonearm.

Personally, like all cables that cost $0, it is great value for money. It conducts electricity faultlessly, so far as I can tell.

Nordost seems to get little play here

Is more than price involved?

It depends if you buy into the whole cable thing. Look at UK audio forums and you will see most people using out-of-the-box power cables.

None of my cables cost $0, and they work fine too.

I have had my last AQ Dragon Source cable installed on the PST for a couple weeks now. Same result as the ones on the MKII and BHK. Better definition, quieter background, more precise imaging. But, less so than before. I don’t know if is because of what it is mated to, or because the improvements are more the same, or expected results are perceived as smaller when achieved. Who knows. Bottom line is that the goal of the full loom is an enticing drug and I still need my fix. Hope you have fun with your next Dragon.

That is a very helpful information. Luca has mentioned the samething too. The improvement would reduce as more Dragons entering the house.

Maybe I just need one more Dragon instead of two. I will see how much improvement I will get from my next one. I need to save a Dragon from the up coming trip to Asia, but of course my wife has a different plan :joy:

I can’t think of a single consensus about cables. I mean, a true consensus. Doesn’t matter what aspect of ā€œcabledomā€ (cablery?) is being discussed, there will always be people who are vociferously on either side of the question: they matter/they don’t; expensive/cheap; long/short; elevated/not; conductor material; dielectric material. Maybe there’s a consensus on balanced/single-ended, but even there I doubt it. Probably the only agreement is that cables are needed, though come to think of it, wi-fi has its adherents, too.
