Directstream MKI Firmware List

Hi all

I’ve just bought a Directstream MKI and I am struggling a little with the list of firmwares on the Archive.

Could someone please tell me the complete list of Perfectwave Directstream DAC MKI firmware available? Explain the firmware releases like I’m 5?
I may or may not want to do some fw rolling when I get it :slight_smile:

Eg. the Archive has multiple versions of Snowmass? Also different photos of Directstream DACs which seems a bit confusing to a PS Audio noob.

Any help appreciated!

I’m assuming ‘DSD’ is just the acronym for Directstream DAC?

I started with Yale I think. In my view Sunlight really was a massive step forward, Ted really did keep the best till last.

Thats what the majority say. Others seem to like Redcloud?

Either way, I do like the fact that you can change it out for a different signature on this DAC. Cant wait to hear it :slight_smile:

The evolution of the FW as the PSA team learned the potential of FPGA FW upgrades addressing bugs and sonic upgrades. In general he latest reflects PSA’s, and Ted Smith’s, thought regarding the sonic capabilities of the DSD DAC. I started with Redbud and did not care for it at all in my system. Windom and Sunlight are where things came together for me.
