@vkennedy61 - Just to clarify, 2.3.5 wasn’t “needed” per se. We frequently make changes to our manufacturing system software to make the production pipeline more efficient and to better catch problems. The changes to 2.3.5 were in that area. It improved and added additional tests responses that speeds up testing and makes it more obvious to the guys on the floor what’s going on if there is a problem. The product itself is only half the battle, there’s a ton of hardware and additional software in production test systems and automated testing as well, that will sometimes impact the code on the unit.
My new MK2 has been delivered! It will be tomorrow before I can get it swapped into the system,
I imagine walking into your house after that ordeal must have felt like being in a sanctuary.
I am glad you made it home safely.
The first thing in that situation that comes to mind is not “fun”.
Glad you had a safe trip.
Nice Enjoy! Mine was suppose to be here today, but it shows a weather delay in Broomfield, CO. So now we will wait until Tuesday.
My Mk2 came today. Right out of the box, color me very impressed. Hard to imagine it will get much better with burn in (but hope it will, of course).
Exciting!!! and great to hear too
Good to hear… We got our MKII back last week. Everyday it sounds better and better. Today’s improvement was jaw dropping. My wife and I couldn’t get anything done, all we did today was watched the games and listened to music… it was a good day!
Enjoy,
Steve
Quite possibly one of the best kind of days. Nice!
Mine’s due in on Tuesday. My system has been sounding so good lately (I credit the PhoenixNET switch) I can’t believe that it will be an improvement, but I’ll keep you all posted…
I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Enjoy!
I know the Toslink input on the DS2 is capable of 96 kHz / 24 bit, but has anyone who has tried out the Toslink connection of the DS2 experienced a higher rate than 96k?
Just wondering whether 192k might be achievable with a top line Toslink cable…
It depends on your source and your cable. I regularly get 24/176.4k (which is also DoP64) with a cheap AQ TOSLink cable. I have another that works reliably at 24/196k (second to the bottom of the line AQ optical cable 20 years ago.) I also have one that’s really flaky at 176.4k. I never get above 96k with the cables that come with VCRs or the few Monster cables I have, etc.
Many thanks Ted. Very much appreciated!
DSDmk2 is happily playing music. It is sounding better on the first hit than my fully modded out out DSDmk1.
What a $bargain.
Bravo PSA.
Up and running!
Playing Mini Brazilian Beasts using the PST with the SACD version
Tremendous leap from the SGCD.
Great job Ted and the rest of the team!
Since beta testing the MKII and sending in my SGCD for trade as the sound is unparalleled with the new DAC. I have now ordered a pair of M1200s to replace my M700s. I already have a PST plus BHK pre and the MKII deserves to have the best amps in my budget. Can’t wait to see what new will be revealed.
Same thought has been rattling around in my head. I look forward to hearing your results with the M1200s.
