Sooo, now we are at least two who hear difference in streamer clocks with MKII (in my case software tuning only). This is most intriguing to me, as Ted in some other thread replied to me that MKII is unaffected by jitter, but that it could be rather the noise signature modulated from the RPi.
I’m currently running RPi4 USB directly to MKII , but was testing this originally also via Matrix2 I2S with similar results which I found even more confusing as Matrix should isolate and reclock anyways
Yes one of mine is a plain Pi4 (in one of those excellent Flirc cases) running it’s native USB, and it works a treat and sounds very good indeed
DAC dependent no doubt (RME adi2 dac fs).
The Pi 3 USB, not so much…
(which is why I use the Pi 3 with a “HAT” for SPDIF out)
That Pi stack of yours looks very impressive though, it is tempting to indulge…
Hearing Ted talking about it is one thing. Hearing the clock itself with my own ears is an entirely different experience. It takes religon by simply watching a youtube video then just leave it at that. That’s not how my brain works. Great video though, watched it many times.
