DSD256 Playback

I can’t get DSD256 to play via the Airlens > DirectStream (Sr). Using JRiver MC34. Does the Airlens need to be set a certain way or is it in the JRiver settings? I have JRiver set to “DSD.” Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Help connecting Airlens and Jriver

To play from Jriver through the airlens, you will use Jriver’s DLNA playback capabilities. I have not been able to figure out how to get it to play back DSD files reliably, but I have very few of them so no big deal. When I want to play those back, I use Roon. In fact my preferred method of playback is through roon, but you asked about Jriver so here goes. I am running Jriver 31. After a ridiculous amount of time spent, I did finally figure everything out. I have DSD256 and all is good. The Airlens does make a difference.

For anyone who stumbles upon this and is curious . . . . make sure your ‘Mode’ is set to “original format.” If using a PS Audio DAC, Airlens, or other device that streams native DSD, do (not) select DSD over DoP, and do not select any bit rates. When configuring the DLNA server via the Media Server setup, do select “Audiophile 24-bit.” Deselect all DSP boxes. With the Airlens itself, be sure the “native DSD” toggle is switched on (the ‘up’ position).
