ENO/MUON Ethernet Filters for Streaming Audio

Sounds like a simple solution to those expensive and probably unnecessary switches.

It could work! I am going to leave a pair down there for you two to share. But not for ever.

How I (and my bank account) wish the test fails and the lucky fella doesn’t like the STEALTH ICs.
But I know, it will never happen.

Anxious to know his thoughts.

All the rest of the Stealth Cables pale in comparison to the Mighty Sakra V17 LE!
They are the single most important cable to use.

(Until the two tuner version appears, probably four days after you buy the single tuner version)
(or I buy another pair)

I’m working to move the DAC closer to the amp, exactly for that reason. See how powerful your advices can be!

This is the plan: best speaker cables I can afford (V18 max), then ICs. Then bankruptcy!

IC’s First!!! Speaker cables may no longer be required.

I am going to put that pair of magic IC on my list (XLR version, ouch!). My goal is to upgrade my cable/gear ratio from 1 to 1 to 3 to 1 eventually.

In my experience, it is better to have speaker cables that are as short as possible. The XLR cable can be slightly longer and the run has less influence. That’s why I chose mono amplifiers to be close to the speakers. I tried it at home with the Michi stereo power amplifier and mono amplifier. The mono version with short speaker cables sounded better to me. I ultimately decided on AVM mono amplifiers, which were more calm and less nervous than the Michi amplifiers. Al and Luca you only need a second amplifier and save on the length of the speaker cable. XLR a little longer and an additional power cable. And you can bi-amp. :joy:

I use to believe the same but when I went to the integrated amp my speaker cables are now double the length they were before and the sound has improved. :man_shrugging:t2:

Oh-oh. It looks like the ā€œrabbit holeā€ of ethernet switches and filters has widened into the ā€œGrand Canyonā€ of analog cables.

I am using 5-meter XLRs to feed my amps combined with shorter speaker cables. I’m sure that the Stealth Sakra V17 LE XLRs sound wonderful, but the list price for a 5m pair of them would be $87,000. That price makes the cost of my PhoenixNet switch seem downright cheap.

It depends on how long is long. Things get significantly worse from 3 meters of speaker cable. Shorter is better in exceptional cases, otherwise long is preferred. :joy: I believe you that your new amplifier sounds better than your old PS Audio. Paul maybe two of your amplifiers sound even better?:man_shrugging::wink:

My XLR’s are also ~5m (32 feet) long so I’ll stick with my Iconoclast for the foreseeable future.

The only rule that holds in this regard is synergy.

Baldy, I agree that sticking with your Iconoclast cables makes sense. When I entered your XLR length of 32 feet (which is actually 9.75 meters) into the calculator on the Cable Company website, while rounding up to 10 meters for the Sakra XLRs, the total came up to $161,250. Of course, that’s for a pair of cables, so you’d have that going for you.

For that money Stealth should provide at least white glove service. Instead, I have two emails sent two weeks ago without hearing anything back yet.
