The granddaddy of reinterpreting swedish folk songs in jazz idiom is Jan Johannson. His sons maintain a legacy site here:

I can highly, highly recommend the Jazz pa Svenska, in particular. In fact, I be so bold as to say that you have to be dead if you don't like it and it doesn't affect you in some way.
Also, consider something like Polska of Despair I on Stenson's Serenity, also based on a folk tune and full of the Swedish melancholy, even as it gets going
