I am pretty certain I am going to buy the Master version of the DMP-A6. Hans tested it and ended up adding it to his system. It is so inexpensive for being what it is.
Youâre happy with the change, and that counts for more than a little. I wouldnât worry about it too much. For those that can afford and appreciate it great. For the rest of us, live within your means. I am happiest with a primary focus on music, not audio components. My music library speaks to that.
Welcome to the Master Edition club. At first I wasnât sure if springing for it over the standard edition was a smart decision. I knew it sounded great but, without a standard to compare it to I couldnât know if it really was better. It was great to see that review this week from Hans confirming my choice. Do you stream to a external DAC?
Itâs sure something how opinions can vary on a product. Harsh would not how I would describe it at all. Maybe I need to hear a $2000 power cord. Or maybe I should make it a point never to.
âHarshâ was meant to describe Alâs comment not the PC.
I can see that now. Completely missed your point.
Not being able to listen to music this week made me cranky (busy work plus heat related issues)
I know youâll probably wind up with master and standard at two separate locations, but it is incumbent upon you to test them side by side into the same DAC and tell us if thereâs a difference.
I will trade you an Eversolo for an Ethos. Seems fair.
And then can I borrow the Ethos from you?
The Onkyo receiver is not as resolving as the Commander/Apex combo? Hmmm. I bet itâs the better power supplies. Lol
Iâve recently noticed that in eversolâs Tidal app, in the queue of songs, you can see whether the next song is flac or mqa encoded. This is not visible on the device itself or the original Tidal app, but only on the eversol tidal app on the phone/tablet :).
Iâm thinking a better power cable is needed. Maybe one of the $20k versions. Hmmm.
but only if $100 bills are used
18 minutes of someone listening to himself talk. Not worth a watch
Youâre probably right. Mostly just set up for part 2 with the actual review material. Biggest takeaway is that he believes the Master Edition actually does sound better than the standard edition. Not that long ago that no reviews were addressing this.
saw that, too, but was it clear if he compared using the unitsâ internal DACs or though the same external DAC?
Other reviews addressed it, but most said that the ME sounded better bc of its internal DAC. Through an external DAC, there was no difference.
In this review Hans addresses this at about the 18 and a half minute mark. He prefers the ME over standard edition using external DAC as well.
Has anyone done much testing of the Eversoloâs preamp vs. a dedicated preamp? If its preamp is pretty good, that really does make it a killer piece of kit
