Yeah, it’s hard to “go back home” when you have heard a monumental system. I was at a classical concert at Ravinia on Sunday. Great performance and acoustics. Can’t get that at home…but we try!
The last time I visited London the exchange rate was like 1.1 USD to 1 GBP a few years ago, so we did all the shopping back then. 
I am also happy that I bought MU2, Muon Pro System and two Gryphons already. So, the next time I buy another Audio gear from Europe will be when the Tariffs are gone or reduced. But it is unlikely that will happen even when Democrats are in control again, because tariffs will be an important income source because of the reducing income tax revenue.
It will be interesting to see how the comparison between Tempus and SW-10 pro comes out. I doubt one will be significantly better than the other. With SW-10 pro added, the same source sounds equally impressive from either MU2 or PST/MK2, so I am done with switches. It is possible that Tempus will sound better, but they may just sound different too.
Same here. London trip was near the same exchange rate a few years ago. Amsterdam at the end of this month will cost me 30% more, comparatively. 
Edinburgh in April of this year the exchange rate varied from 1.30 to 1.32 to the pound. Didn’t bring any trinkets home, money spent on experiences with our daughter and travel companions.
It’s good to hear of a positive megabuck experience. When I’ve heard the $1M+ systems (including at dealers, shows are obviously compromised), more often than not I’ve been disappointed with them musically. Sure the hifi spectacle is impressive, but they usually didn’t bring me any closer to the performance, and often distracted me from it. That said, it’s been a while since I’ve done the show/dealer circuit and I sense the industry has moved in a better/more musical sonic direction in recent years (e.g. Magico and Wilson).
Yeah it seems unlikely one is significantly better when you consider how much overall variability there is in SQ with network changes (relative little and fairly subtle). But we shall see… perhaps I will get my fiber optic line run in the meantime. I also need to install my new network rack and clean up all the wiring down there.
This system displays the music like a hologram of the room it was recorded in. Walls have no effect. Close your eyes and all I experience is instruments an performers in the most 3D way I have ever heard. Of course my friend has a BACCH-SP adio. Turn it off and everything sounds very nice. Turn it on a new reality is created with each new song. Same thing at my house. But his full range ribbon speakers are more of a point source than most. Live recordings were stunning. It was nice.
All with a pair of very expensive 20 watt tube amps. ($250K)
I am seriously looking at BACCH4Mac now. It did get me thinking - is that one of the reasons you don’t hear any difference in switches? Apologies if you’ve already explained this 100x here… but you’re using the Mac Mini for everything (Roon core/endpoint/BACCH processor) which makes minor network noise moot? Are you using the Grimm anymore?/
The Bacch gear is such a powerful upgrade that tweaking gets forgotten. True story.
Bought uBACCH last night, will set up and try tonight… Rationalized that coming from my alma matter and hometown makes it more legit. If it’s as good as you say, I’ll seriously consider the dio hardware which would obviously force me to rethink my streaming setup.
Its top on my list after the PMG DAC upgrade which I am praying is worth the money hit I took on the MKII.
Probably wont have the funds until spring, but BACCH4MAC is on the list because @paul172 won’t let me forget about it.
