FR30 Set Up, Tweaks and Burn In

Great idea. It doesn’t look very thick, quarter inch?

Closer to 3/16" but I already have the back original supplied studs extended to their maximum and the front studs screwed down as far at they can so there is probably closer to 1/2" toe down from front to back right now. The newly supplied studs will give me over an inch of adjustment once I get to install them.

Another option to get more tilt for the FR’30’s is to take the bolt/spike assembly out of the front two (if you have not done this already) leaving it “flat” in the front. Chris did this at my house due to my relatively close listening distance of about 9 feet. I have not tried the Gaia’s or other after market feet. Interested if they made a difference for you.

Yes, the white does look good, but so does the black.
I will have a decision to make if/when I purchase a pair of the FR20

Beautiful. Congratulations!

Are those Vicoustics panels peaking out on the sides of the picture!

I have Amphion Krypton3’s and found that Isoacoustic Gaia feet made a very pleasing difference - focus, tighter and deeper bass, as per your observations. Furthermore, my wife much preferred the new look! Win win

Day 3 with the FR20’s:
Adjusted listening height with a folding chair so my ears are between the tweeter and the planar midrange, at the red dot in the photo.

This is where superlatives went thru my mind, in a good way

Next will be to make adjustments to the Gaia feet so the lower, but much more comfortable, main listening seat can be used.

I fixed it:

And then I thought, what the heck…

Raising the back 2 feet of the FR20’s a slight amount made a huge difference at the sweet spot. The first photo is a close-up of one of the front feet, and the 2nd photo shows one of the back feet raised.

Those Gaias are handy as well as effective. Seems as though you’re having a fun day!

The standard foot assembly on the FR-30/20 allows for height adjustment similar to the Gaias as well as removal of the spike if desired. As Paul and others have shown, you can really dial-in the desired frequency and image.

Isoacoustics will supply longer studs for the back footers if you need them for more toe down.

Folks:
I just ordered a pair of FR-30’s in Pearl White. I have all PSA gear in black and I think the white option should pop. My gear includes BHK Pre, BHK 600’s, DSDAC MKII, PW Transport and P-20’s. I am looking forward to these speakers. I’ll keep you guys posted on my thoughts and impressions.

Congrats. Same system here. They do look cool in white, but my gray does just fine in my cave. Have fun with setup and break-in.
