So concludes a study performed by golfers.
The other side of “may be” is “may not be”.
99 out of 100 golfers surveyed said they feel more intelligent because of golf, lol.
This year’s Masters, on the 50 anniversary of Jack’s 1975 win, was special. It was a nail biter too. I am so happy that Roy finally was able to win the Masters and completed his Grand Slam. He is only the 6th player in the history of golf that did it.
There were so many ups and downs in the Final, this one will be one of the great ones to remember. I did not even turn on the system for music, which seldom happened. I am inspired to play a good round tomorrow.
The two times I played I most enjoyed driving the cart and driving the ball as far and hard as possible with random accuracy. Short game? What’s that? Oh, everything! Never mind.
Nice, I will carry that canyon with my 9 iron (in my dream).
I hit Driver there Donald, everything feeds to the green. 56 degree to the green and then 3 putt😂
That’s how ordinary golfers play there, including you and me😆
How far to the rock face?
Do you mean Shining Rock, in Massachusetts? (Check spelling)
If yes, my sis-in-law was an early townhome owner and on the right side of the 10th fairway. A hidden gem of a course.
If memory serves, there’s such a big gap between the 9th green and 10th tee, the pro shop would keep an eye out for walking hard cores like me and offer a ride between.
If I’m on target here, I assume you’ve played Blackstone National, not far away. A great area for golf!
Two nice golf courses, Shining Rock is a great value. I like shining rock and Connecticut national better than blackstone.
Today I shot 78, my best round in three years. This is why this crazy hobby get to you, because you think you can do it again soon. Wrong! I used to break 80 a few times a year, but now it is once every few years. Whenever that happens, the entire day just felt great. I am still high now! But experience tells me that I will be depressed sooner than expected, and my worst round of the year could happen next time I tee off because of the high expectation.
You will never know when a great round happens ahead of time, and that is the only sure thing in golf.
Even my system sounded better than yesterday!
Congrats Donald, great round!
Donald, that’s wonderful news! I usually shoot in the mid-80s these days, so it’s rare when I play well enough to make it into the upper 70s. It’s definitely worth a celebration!
My brother called me earlier this week to tell me that he made his first hole-in-one. I’ve still never had a hole-in-one myself, so I guess I can keep that goal on my bucket list.
One of the things we’ve learned from behavioral psychology is that intermittent reinforcement tends to maintain behaviors that are influenced by the continuing hope of getting rewarded. Golf is a great example of this type of behavior, and I’m not ready to give up yet.
Play well and stay hopeful!
I was lucky enough to have three hole-in-ones, and they were all witnessed by my golf body Larry. But he moved away about 9 years ago, and I have never had one since. He also witnessed all hole-in-ones by his wife (5). He never had one himself.
I may go play a 9 hole tomorrow to seek my fourth.🏌🏽♂️Enjoy the game and keep trying! You never know when you will be granted one by the golf god!
Three holes-in-one is amazing. One would be enough for me at this point.
To wish you luck, I have a prediction for tomorrow: as long as you play a 9-hole course, it will be a safe bet that you’ll break 80 again.
Happy golfing!
I gave up golf even though I routinely shot in 70’s - on 9.
Donald, I can’t get enough of it either. Currently in 2 men’s clubs, and working on 6 days straight. Couldn’t do this prior to 4/15, as taxes are still my job. Usually in low to mid 80s, so I still manage some some sub-80 rounds here and there. You’re right, those feel great! If you’re ever near Boulder to check in with the PS Audio gang, bring your clubs and we’ll tee 'em off!
